I always seems to have at least three projects due on the same day, or the day before a test. I can only paint and draw so much!!

I call it TUPHH... Get it? As in "there's nothing I can do to stop it, so tough!" :p
But you Star...I feel your pain. This is probably the only weekend that I don't have a haystack of homework. And it doesn't look like it'll be that way for long. My English teacher has this way of making it seem as if she thinks she's the only one who gives us homework. And if you're loaded with homework from her class, and have a bunch of homework in another class, too, she'll tell you "it's all about organization Leah!!"
*sigh* What're you gonna' do? :p
I KNOW!! We can sick Spiderman on them!!!

Well seeing as how I have no life...I finished my HGS and Math Homework on friday and I'm gonna try really hard to get my HGS teacher to move the test. Then that would only leave Chemistry and Math to deal with. not too bad I guess. Still SUX!!!(that was for you flar!LOL) Then after that all I have to worry about is finals and provincials. I'm going to need a very large nap after this month is up! But I'm excited for this semester to be over cause then I get to start Biology (My fav subject).
Yup I think it's safe to say that 9 out of 10 slaves hate homework. I like school in general though. ..most of my teachers are crazy nuts just like me so......it's just the bloody homework that's ticks me off!
:D Oh well I'm glad to be gratuating this year and going off to college (more difficult I'm sure) for a nice change of scenery:D

One of the things I disliked about highschool was homework. It was stupid, pointless busy work. It really was. But my highschool wasn't that great anyway.
I get a lot of work in college but, it doesn't feels like pointless busy work. there are no silly sheets to fill out or dumb questions to answer. The work has a point to it!
Personally, I think there's too much focus placed on academic subjects, and not enough focus on things like, art, music, langauge, and yes, PE.
another two cents from me. (and an open can of worms. be careful, don't slip!)

tankies for the offer sephiroth, theyre my fave subjects too ...well, maybe not physics! but i have to do a science/maths...*sigh* numbers!
nyx:- i guess it depends on what skool you go to. the high skool that i juss left was pretty much performing arts orientated, but i agree, a lot of the focus is on academia. the skool im starting this year is a senior high skool (juss the last two yrs) at the uni in the city. theres drama and art and music, no phys.ed. :(

I have 2 more years to go after this, so I might as well get used to this homework thing :p
But what's great is having 3 electives at my school (although they made me waste one on something required--P.E. along with Health and Driver's Ed :ugh:) But next year I'll get to use all three. This year the two I got to use were Drama and Film Acting (such a drama queen, I know!) And homework in there is usually practicing a monologue, or bringing in something for our next scene. And in Film Acting, it's usually something like storyboarding, like I'm doing now (so fun!).
Luckily, I like history and English, 'cause those are the classes I get the most homework in.
In any case, I guess I have 2 years left to get used to this homework because then I'll be off at college and I'm sure it'll be worse...

Actually SS, I think college is a lot better. You can THINK! That wasn't allowed at my highschool. (and you all think I'm kidding!8O ) It's wonderful. But, it IS a lot of work and it is far more stressful than highschool. But also, it's also a lot more fun. :)
bansidhe: Yah, my school was terrible. Its focus was on getting high scores on district tests, so the school could get more money. It was a waste of time. I should have just taken the test, (NOT GED, it's something else, but I forget what it's called), and gotten out early. Oh well.

Yeah Nyx. I'm sure it will be much more pleasurable.... I mean, I'm sure it won't just be busy work. As it's been said earlier in this post, high school homework is usually dumb... :P

ARG!!!!!!!!!! I now how you feel! My teachers tryto trick their classes though....it's like every once in awhile some of them will check your homework and it's always that day when you're like "im tired. Im just gonna go to sleep and not do this cause she's not gonna check it anyway" Then BAM!!!!!!! that's the day they check it:scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: :shaker: :shaker: :shaker: :ahhhh: :ahhhh: :ahhhh: that makes me so mad! Though i've learned the patterns of my teacers now....plus all my teachers tell me homework is for review am i alone in thinking that if the teachers taught it to its fullest extent in school there would be no need for homework...Idont know but....it does feel lik teacrs get together ad are like"ok let's give them all a bunch of homwork so they can have no lives thisweekend!" arg!!!!! and having US2 chem algebra2 english 12 and poetry home work over the weekend is NOT fun!
ok im done ranting i feel better now!

I think you get "busywork" in earlier classes just so you get used to the idea of doing work outside of school all the time. I never did the homework in highschool either but there's nooo way I could not do it in my college program. Most of my courses you just can't pass if you don't do the extra reading, work out the examples, and study for an hour or two for each hour you spend in class.
But then there are other things they tell you about college that isn't true - like I was always told in highschool I had to use a pen, and in primary school we learned we had to write (not print), because "in college you're expected to do it that way". The funny thing is these days the prof won't even mark any of our work if it's not done on the computer - forget using pens or writing nicely!

i gotta do the homework...well most of it neways. im going into my last year (end of jan...eep!!! ) and it counts towards my SACE (south australia certificate of education) andi sorta need that piece of paper if i wanna do uni, etc!!!
nyx:- at my last high skool (the xtian one) we werent allowed to think either. forget working out alternate ways to do problems, etc...its this way and thats it. and i find it ironic that a skool which has 'teaching the love of christ' as its motto hands out so many punishments and generally makes any pagan students life hell.
i dont know, juss could be me.

the problem with College homework is they give you too much
rope! To hang yourself!
They give you so much time to do it, that if you're lazy like me and
the average student, you put it off till the last moment!! So far
it has never been to hard, just takes time! Dont they understand
that I just want the piece of paper with the stuff on it that says
I gradumacated! And also want the pay and prestige stuff that
comes with the diploma! Dont have time for all this "assignment"
stuff. I got a computer at home that needs me, as well as a dvd
player, vcr, tv, stereo, friends, car, pets, and other fun stuff!
Ok ok ok... rant over. We'll do it your way "Mr." Teacher.
I love college! It beats the heck out of work!
