On finding the Pagan path did it more or less meet with what you already believed and you deided to apply the label of say,'Wiccan' to describe these, or were you disillusioned with your previous faith and actively set out to find another spiritual path?x

I found that neopaganism agreed with my view on life and adopted it. I don't change my view point to match anything but my time as a pagan has affected my views and thinking a great deal.

Originally, I tried to make myself believe in Wicca because it sounded cool... that lasted for about a month LOL. Then I started getting more eclectic/pantheist, because that's how I really see the world and I don't see any point in trying to change it!

I do not consider my self a pagan.
But I left my previous religion due to the over whelming amount of hypotactic attitudes I found in the elders... so far I've found just as much hypocrisy in pagan religions.

I didnt really have another faith. I had studied Christianity (Religious Philosophy), but had no belief in it. I was just generally reading around texts of various faiths until one clicked with me.

Paganism just fit my worldview. I've never been Christian. My mom took me to church when I was a kid, but Christianity never felt right. Paganism did.

i set out to find something....being raised christian, tho not much on the practicing aspect of it, i looked to the bible adn started reading it. I soon became quite disillusioned with what i found there..it didn't match my beleifs at all. I hadn't heard of wicca or paganism or anything like that until one day around halloween time a show came on the discovery channel called "travelers" they were in Salem mass and interviewed some local pagans. Wicca intrigued me, so i did some research and liked what i found, it matched my beliefs so muchb etter than what i had found in christianity.

The latter happened to me. I thought I was alone for 2 decades untill I heard about paganism and recognised it fitted me.

When I was about twelve years old I suddenly realised that Catholicism wasn't working for me. I struggled with the concepts of sin and punishment, not believing that there was only one all powerful god, conscious of and controlling everything that ever was and everything that ever would be. I suppose I was particularly introspective for my age... I mulled over what I was being fed in school, unlike many of my peers. Too many things just seemed... outside my sphere of belief. I didn't agree with their thoughts on sin and divine punishment, couldn't fathom their beliefs regarding sexuality, and was completely baffled by the clear hypocrisies which were prevalent throughout the church.
I had largely abandoned my Christian beliefs by the time I came across witchcraft and paganism, and had stopped trying to force myself to believe things I couldn't align myself with. I found paganism both challenged and provoked me... I had no firm beliefs in anything at the time I discovered it, but it certainly made more sense to me than anything had before.

I didn't get a choice. Netjer stalked me until I agreed to believe, follow and serve.
I did not happen upon my path. I was forcibly dragged onto it, kicking and screaming: "What the heck are you doing? I am an atheist, get it? I do not believe in God, go away!!!"
I am sure the three stalkers who did that to me could be found and charged. They definitely stand out in a crowd, especially the jackal- and ibis-headed guys. The woman in white, maybe less so, but she never goes anywhere without her ostrich feather  ;) _tomatoe_ :fpeek:

When I was about 8 years old I started to see the holes in catholism... after that I started questioning it and was punished by the nuns and priest and my school for not having 'faith' and was told on multiple times I was going to hell. :p Needless to say that left a very bad taste in my mouth about organized religion. When I was older around 13-14 I started to research other religions... none of them fit persay... closest was Buddhism. I don't consider myself a buddhist... but I share many of the philosophies. I just label myself 'pagan' to fit into a criteria that is recognizable to others. I guess I'm more of a witch with buddhist leanings :p

My views were shaped by watching the world at work. Very early on, I developed my own sense of right and wrong and how I believed things should be. I'd never really been introduced to Xianity or any other major religion, so I didn't have any of that to go on. It was just an innate sense of being. (Does that make sense?) Then at about 16, I learned a little bit about Paganism, and then at 18, I married my husband who was already a Pagan, and I began to learn more.
My views havn't really changed much. I've found more in Paganism to support my views, so Paganism came to me fairly easily and naturally.
