My mom has a collection of stones in various baggies and one of which is labeled as a purple garnet. I've looked online and while I *can* find images of a purple garnet, I can't find any magical correspondences for it.
Garnet info is easy enough to come by, but I was wondering if there was a difference in the colorization.
Sorry if this seems silly, I'm more of an herbal person so this is all over my head.
ETA: One more thing- one of the other baggies says "Garnet ALM" what does the ALM mean?

Garnet ALM is Almandine, the garnet usually found in India
the even more deep red one is called Pyrop, and usually come sfrom the czech republic, moravia, and sometimes austria
the purple garnet, i think you are meaning Rhodolit Garnet, that is a heart + root chakra garnet (not just root chakra)
it will help to make you feel yourself sexy and attractive, will connect the survival aspects and sex drive with the heart. so people who are too platonic or too much sex driven, will balance those two out

Thank you so much! I'd figured all the others out but those two were stumping me!

Just to add a couple of things if I may.
This Rhodolite garnet is also called Raspbery garnet. Is highly prized as a gem stone used in jewerly. You will also find it sometimes passed off as purple tourmaline, but that is only by an unscrupulous dealer. Garents come in a wide range of colours.....Red or Rootbeer Garnet, so called because the colour is sometimes seen as a brownish red. Tangerine Garnet, a rare orange variation. Tsavorite Garnet, a green garnet found in Africa.

I would say that pyrope is the most commonly sold one.
