I have only just started with tarot, I wasn't planning to buy a set but these demanded I buy them!
I have never done a reading for anyone but today read for myself to help with a choice I have to make (see my post in helping hands) I think I know what is the right desicion to make and the cards pretty much echoed that but I'm am worried I may just be seeing what I want to somehow. Would someone else look at them and see what they think?
It was a three card spread - dream - joy - magic (fey tarot) and the cards where
Dream - The world
Joy - Judgment
Magic - wands 3

My main problem here is with your position meanings. If this relates to a decision you need to make, then why use "Dream, Joy, Magic"?
I guess I would have used something like: Do it, Don't do it, Advice :)
Other than that, IMO the cards are saying that you have a tremendous opportunity for growth & change before you, but you'll have to take a risk & gamble to see if the opportunity will bear fruit for you.
Make sense? (Didn't read your other post ;) )

I didn't chose the names, they were in the cards instructions. What you said would be easier and makes sense, can I just call them that instead?
guess I did ok, because without seeing the other post you pretty much hit the nail on the head

I didn't chose the names, they were in the cards instructions. I figured it was probably a pre-written spread.
What you may want to try is writing your own spreads for your readings. It sounds more complicated than it is. :)
Think about your question and what you really want to know. Just like your example above. What you wanted to know, basically was what would happen with one choice, with the other choice and some advice you could use.
Another time you may want love advice and it could go something like:
Self love
Romantic love
Family love
or something similar. The possibilites are endless. Another easy one is a; Yes, No, Maybe or Past, Present, Future.
You could even do your hair: Wash, Rinse, Repeat! :D

I don't know what the choice you have to make is, but I understand your concern in wondering if you are reading the cards and seeing what you want to see.
I use my cards in decession making processes all the time, and they are excellent for going over ideas in your head (like a sounding board) or just throwing up completely new ones - but don't let them decide for you. Everything you see in a reading is worth considering, but don't follow anything blindly. Seeing as your spread concurs with what you are thinking I think you should go with it.
I think that when you are truely engrossed in a reading for yourself, you stop being the querrent and you become the reader - bias is (usually) impossible because you are distanced from yourself.
