It probably isn't as popular here, but I always liked the Christian Creation story from Genesis. And then the Garden of Eden and the "Fall of Man." All of that was really interesting.

I like the one in The Spiral Dance by Starhawk. Goddess desires herself and makes love to herself and swells with love, thus giving birth to the worlds.

yeah, the Biblical account is certainly interesting, especially with the effect it has had on religious thought and culture for so long in the West!

:( Doesn't work when *I* do it! Oh, maybe this is more appropriate in After Dark...

The Sumerian creation myth, of course, is my favorite:
So from this, we can piece together the Sumerian myth of Creation: First was the primeval Sea (Nammu). The primeval sea begot the "cosmic mountain". This mountain consisted of heaven and earth united. Gods were perceived anthropomorphically, so the cosmic mountain consisted of the god An (heaven) and the goddess Ki (earth). Their union begot the god Enlil. Enlil, the air-god separated heaven from earth. An carried off heaven, while Enlil carried off his mother, the earth. Ki was now to be called Ninmah, Nintu, Ninhursag,2 etc. In other words, "mother goddess". Their mating resulted in the birth of the gods, the organization of the universe and the creation of man. The Sumerian account is, when compared to Babylonian and some other accounts, rather simple and straight forward: In the beginning there was a primeval sea (Nammu) with a united "cosmic" mountain. The mountain comprised heaven (An) and earth (Ki). The union of heaven and earth then caused the air (Enlil) to come into being, which in turn separated heaven and earth.

I like the KJV creation myth from genesis... "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."

I like the Sumerian one, and the Ancient Egyptian one (the universe or multiverse is created by a god (don't remember which one) masturbated and the universe/multiverse came about), also the Jewish/Christian one is also, kind of, cool too.
Other than that, i don't know much about creation myths, although i want to learn about them.

Im one for the Big Bang creation myth lol, caused by what some call "The All" or "Lord" and "Lady" energies intermingling to create the cosmos, dunno if that makes much sense, but oh well thats my favourite

In the matter of creation myths, I'm rather fond of "Let's Make a Deal," but "Family Feud" is also a strong contender.

Im not sure if I have a FAV fav creation myth, but I am fond of the Japanese myth where Izanagi dips his spear into the depths to subdue a monstrous fish or dragon and from the drops from his spear the islands of Japan emerge. I also am quite fond of the Greek, perhaps becasue ive studied it for so long in english classes from Highschool hehe.
