I love the feeling of sun light filling the room. It's warm and peaceful and beautiful and very golden. It makes me feel so good all over like a nice warm cozy blanket :weirdsmil

We have this really ugly prism chandeleir over the stairs to our front door. It doesnt go with my decor and it makes me think nineties. As much as I hate how it looks, I have to say I love that when the sun comes up from the beginning of March to the end of October, it makes rainbows dance all over my great room and they make me smile.

I absolutely :LIVE: for the sun in my rooms. I am such a child of the sun! *L*

When it's quiet at work, I'll go sit in the front window on a stool and read in the sun.

I could never live in a place where it was dark more than sunny.

I am the SunGypsy. ;)

It's great in the winter when it's cold and grey outside but it's not so good in the summer when it wakes me up at 4:00am :( Sunny days are happy days though :)

I'm a sun person so I LOVE the sun. But living in Florida, it gets really really hot in the summer and your power bills go thru the roof if you let the sun shine in  So I must confess, in summer, we keep our blinds closed most of the time just to try to keep the house cool. But in winter, windows come open so the sun and breeze can come inside and I love it :)

Though I appreciate the gloomy rain and thunder filled days just as much.

Sometimes, I have to be in the mood. Because I generally like the night time, the dark, etc. If the weather's nice, during the day yea, sometimes I'll open my blinds and pull back my curtains... but my windows are UGLY and I hate looking at them. So that's the main reason I have them usually closed.

I love it!! I just have to pretend I dont see all the floating dust motes glinting at me

I miss warm sunny days. It's been winter for so long here, and even a sunny day viewed from inside has this sterile canned quality. *puts in a Work Order for Spring*

It doesnt go with my decor and it makes me think nineties.Wow, I still have decor from the '70s. I have a feeling the Fashion Police are out to write me a ticket.

But anyway, I love the sun, and the light half of the year. The sun is my friend, inside or out, though I sometimes prefer my sun outside with a bit of shade.

I do love sun-filled rooms, but I don't like it when I have to stand at the sink in front of the window to wash dishes and the sun blinds me. So natural lighting yes, vision impairment no.

I love when the Sun fills the room, especially when I have crystals hanging in the windows to get the prism effect !!:yayah: It is a little to much in the summer though, in the house I live in, open beam ceilings, no insulation, no air-conditioning, hot, hot, hot !!:abbed:

I like when the sun fills the room too. But living in Texas it also gets very, very hot here during the summer. So we try to keep it cool inside by shutting curtains/blinds.

My favorite, though, is during the crisp, cool of Autumn when the sun is out and the warmth of the sun mixed with cool Autumn air is just sooooo nice.

I suffer from a very serious affliction, called "Cat Disease".

Y'know, when you walk across a room, hit a patch of bright, warm sunshine, and promptly fall down, curl into a ball like a cat and fall asleep..._catroll_

We all have it in my family....

Needless to say, we don't get alot done when the sun is shining....:awilly:

:yayah:
I loooooove sunlight!

No, I don't like it at all. I'm not a sun person. Not only does it make to tired to do much I burn way to easily and have a high degree of photosensitivity, a sun sun filled room has been known to give me a migrane and rather nasty sun burn in less than five minutes. Needless to say the sun and I don't get along.

But seventies is all back in again. Shag rugs, love beads, institutional style lighting.....all retro now. :)

:awilly: ARGH institutional style lighting makes me want a strait jacket and a padded cell. Of course I still go to a rollerrink to rollerskate so I suppose I'm stuck back there in that retro thing. I just think there are some aspects of the seventies that should remain in the seventies.

As for the sun! I'm a sun worshipper! Though I burn at the thought of the sun..I love to bask in the warmth of the light. However I also appreciate the moon and her light just as much!:boing:

i love it when the house is lit with natural light, its so much more comfortable than artificial light... i don't like waking up to excruciatingly bright light, though... right now i have blinds on my window, and they are always closed... that's gonna change soon, hopefully next week when i get new furniture and rearrange my room... right now i can't have my bed in front of the window because of how everything fits, but i'm getting a futon instead, and am putting curtains in the window, and its gonna be so much nicer... but yeah, i prefer having sunlight in the room, it not too harsh, and fills the whole room, unlight artificial light...

Im very fair skinned so when I think of the sun I think of becoming sun burned. So when the sun comes out I tend to try to hide from it. Im more the type of throwing open the windows when it is raining.

Yes, I like it a lot. We do not get that much sun here on the "Wet Coast", so it is always good to feel a warm ray of sun on my feet while I am standing in the living room.

What I like best is watching my cat stretching and basking in the morning sun

I picked my favourite choice for all polls, "other" lol.

I'm very particular. I don't mind the sun that's naturaling shining just keeping the inside of my house light and visible. But true sun beams shining in just puts me off. It's way to cheery and happy and bright for my taste.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not dark brooding meany, but I'm just not a fan of the sun's brand of "Bright and Cheery" lol.

Too I've had a bad time with sun beams. They're always peeking in at unwelcome times, like when I'm sleeping in on a day off from work lol. Or when they used to be accompanied by my mother's bright, happy, sunny disposition on the weekends when I was in school.

I'm not a mean morning person lol but I'm far from chipper. So yeah...sun beams....bleck!

:sunny:I love the sun! I love to have natural light as much as possible. Moonlight is beautiful too. When I need more light after sundown I prefer to light candles than use electricity. I grew up in Northern Ontario and remember we had lots of power outages... many times I would do my homework by candlelight.

I LOVE sunshine in my rooms... except when it hits me straight in the eyes while I'm trying to do something. Which is why it sucks that, in my dorm room, there's not really a way for me to position my bed and desk so that the sun -doesn't- hit me in the eyes during part of the day if I don't have my blinds down (plus, all the people walking past on the courtyard would keep staring in my window...) I do love the fact that our dorm has windows with two sets of blinds on each - one set high and one set low - so you can keep people from looking in on you while still getting light in from the top half of the windows :)

I love when the suns fills my room. It doesn't matter what I am doing in my room I am always aware of when it's about to be that time where my room fills up with the rays of pre-sunset. It doesn't matter how messed up everything is in my life, for that brief time I am serene and calm.

I voted other because yes I love the sun streaming through my windows it cheers the place up and just makes the day so much happier.
But what I don't like is when it streams through too brightly and I have to close my curtians otherwise I get blinded and end up with a head ache!:hahugh:

We live in the central California valley where it gets to be 100+ for days on end in summer, so from June to September, we close up the house like a tomb at dawn...
But in winter when it's cold I like the sun slanting in through the dining room, making it warm for us and the cats.

I love it , I love it! I meditate under the sun and soak in the energy. Especially if I am feeling a little out of sorts and even when I am feeling well, it charges me right up. I always open my blinds in the morning so light can enter my home, even if there is a small amount I don't get much sun because, of the direction I face. But still letting some light in cheers up the home.

I love the sun in all forms. My favorite is when you are riding in the car on a chilly day and the sun is hitting the window warming you. Today would work for that. I need to find someone to go for a drive with me because its best not to close your eyes and soak up the suns energy when you are driving!

I love the feeling the Sun gives on so many different levels. Im up and out the door before dawn pretty much everyday, and I get to watch the Sun slowly rising up over the Delaware River. I love the feeling it gives me, never fail.
Favorite times;

When hiking a ridge line and eitheir seeing the sun set or rise on a majestic landscape. That always makes a hard backcountry day worthwhile.
Hasn't happened in years, but I used to love to go surfing at dawn and watch the sun rise up before me.

my apartment faces west so all we get is sad afternoon sunlight. plus the glare from the parking lot and such tends to give me migraines, so i open my blinds as much as my houseplants need, and that's it. i generally don't need a lot of light to see what i am doing anyway.

Here we have nine weeks of everlasting daylight and nine weeks where light is absent most of the time. So, the sun filling a room means something special to us living above the Polar circle.
Polarnight is over january,21st. But it takes weeks before it actually shines into my house. This year I notet : February, 24th: At 9.30 AM it shone for the first time into the kitchenwindow - for a few minutes only. One month later it fiills the livingroom. But from this time until october we have sun nearly all day long shining in different rooms. (WHEN it shines....) Some days ago I went to bed at midnight, the room was bathed in sunlight. I use two layers of dark curtains.
But from october we have to say good-bye to the sun because of the mountains south-east of our town and november,22th the polarnight starts......
So: YES, I Do appreciate having sunlight in the house, even at night.....:viking:

I usually prefer darker, overcast days to bright sunshine. I burn in the sun and I hate to be hot. Rooms that are too bright give me a headache. Darkness is just more comforting to me.

But having said that, every now and again a sunlit room is ok... especially in the morning. And sunsets are beautiful to watch.

I prefer my curtains closed and it's annoying when the sun shines in. Until very recently I liked it nearly pitch black in my room save for whatever I needed to see (book, computer, etc.) but now I leave the light on. It's not that I don't love sun, because my wicked dark tan suggests otherwise, but I don't like it in my room so much.

I'm photosensitive, my eyes cannot handle bright light. Plus I have migraines. So sunlight is not my friend. I prefer nightime and overcast days. Not because I'm overly dark or gloomy by nature, but because it's easier on my eyes.

I like the sun in the early morning and late evening the most, but am glad my room is dark in the morning no matter how crazy the sunlight gets. I think sunlight is beautiful when it just warms my face without being totally hot and burning and painful, lol.
