Holly?

Hey, im an (very) ecclectic solitare wondering about the signifigance and magical qualities of Holly. As a child i have always been drawn to trees (especially oak and willow) and have a profound respect for them. I know enough about holly to know that it is a highly revered tree, and so i have used wood from one for a yule wand. As well, is there any info that you could share about ivy? I have a small vine growing under a large fir, it had been neglected for a long time until i discovered it and began taking care of it. Now it is getting hearty enough that i could begin to take trimmings.
