recurring dream since i was a child

i will run this one past you all and see if any of you can help. the dream reader in my family don't have any idea. so here goes.

i'm in a large room that is two levels the lower level is in a pit and the uper level is like a ring around the lower level. on the uper part they are alot of what looks like computer screns on the walls. it is a round room .they are people of a sort on the uper level looking down into the lower. i call them people of a sort cause they are very tall and their skin is a lite blue color. i'm down in the lower level working on a big machine thats looks like a large generator of some kind.i'm one of them blue skin and all. i bend down and replace a part of this machine. when i do this there is a bright flash of light and then nothing. i think it blows up when i do that.

i'm in my 40's now and have been having this dream since i can remember.
i also have been having a visitation for about the same time. it is a girl of about 8 years old with long blound hair and green eyes( most of the time they are green but sometimes they turn red). the last time she came to me she came and stood at the end of my bed and just stared at me. this is normal but what makes me mention it is that when i woke up my wife said she saw her as well.

can any of you help with this or am i just out of my mind.

I've gotten a little wary of posting dream interpretations for brand new members. It's always disappointing when they don't return and let you know how it's going! :] So please don't disappear Misyxe!

(I have no idea about the visitation part - if you both saw her maybe a better question for the paranormal forum. :X) But here are my thoughts on your dream:

This dream began in your childhood correct? It seems to me that you were helpless in this situation - trapped. It is common for children to feel this way about their families. Color associations are personal- blue may mean something entirely different to you - however a common association for blue would be loyalty. You are trapped by your loyalties to your family possibly.

The generator has to do with the family relationship - the force that runs the family and keeps it together. (Only you know what this is.) But now it's broken. You give of yourself trying to fix it, but it blows up in your face. (literally) Perhaps you were the sort of child who was always trying to mediate - or worse, you were PUT UPON to mediate or take sides.

I would definately expect a dream like this from a child going through their parent's divorce - the machinery being representative of the court system and trial. But it could be many things. :]
