Im flying to New hampshire to see my parents on monday and I'm extremely nervous.. I havent flown since I was 7,and dont know what to expect. I have 2 suitcases that will be tagged and put on the plane,and I'm planning on carrying hannahs small suitcase and my small travel bag on board.. I dont know if I need to get the luggage tags or if they supply them..How will i recognize my luggage once i get off the plane..and what do I do when i get to detroit for the layover..do i go to the desk for another boarding pass? do I have to be searched etc again? I'm just hoping hannah behaves and stays with me.. I took her shopping with me at a place called suzy's that has all kind of ceramics,etc,and she wouldnt hold my hand and kept running off..How is she goign to be at the airport! (sigh ,gulp) lol and where do i pay for the onboard movie/earphones? will i have to store both carry on bags,or can i hold my travel bag? I hope they are nice and help me..I'm afraid that we'll end up in NYC like kevin on home alone did lol
can anyone who has flown alot give me any tips/advice? or any general knowledge.. :D :Hugz:

Hi!
Let's see...They will have luggage/ID tags for your bags. Put a ribbon or the like on your checked luggage to make it stand out. I believe if it's just a layover, you will stay on the plane, or at least have the option. If you are changing planes, ask an attendant, she/he will help you. No, you do not be searched again unless you are changing terminals (and I doubt it). I can't imagine taking my 2 year old in an airport right now, he's just plain ole crazy! LOL So, I sympathize with you having to handle Hannah. Are you going to be able to carry your carryon and Hannah's carryon and still have a hand for her? If you have your own headphones, you can bring them (most airlines). Otherwise, you may buy them on the plane, the attendants will offer. You should be able to store your carryons under the seat in front of you, they'll be accessible. I wish I had some advice...I guess just remember it's okay to ask for help and even to tell the stewards that this is your first time flying with Hannah and you are nervous. I bet you'll do just fine. {{{{{Hugs}}}}}
Have a great time with your parents!

my plane numbers change ,the flight #'s are different. so i dont know if I'll be on the same plane.. I have her small suitcase with wheels and my carry-on travel bag(which has a strap) so i'll be able to carry it on my shoulder. I'm going to try and have her wheel her suitcase **we'll see how that goes** lol I might have to buy her a pair,unless my husb and lets us take the ones he has.. I did read some travel tips for restricted items,etc.so im good there! :) i'll make sure all my metal,jewelry etc is on my carry-on bag,have to put the extra shoes on top of the clothes.. the ribbon tip was good. i'll have to go buy some.. i may also buy the tags,just incase... thanks :D (hugs)

Ok, I know how some people feel about suggestions like this, but...
One of the best ways to travel with small children is to give em a healthy dose of benedryl beforehand... she'll sleep the entire way :p

I've thought of that mindflayer,but them i'd have more to carry lol .. I went to the northwest site last night and got a few tips and also looked up our seating arrangement..well from the layover in detroit to New Hampshire,they had hannah and I seperated! Me on one side and her on the other,so I had to call them and have to fix that. they told me that they'll give me all the boarding passes in Indy,so all i'll have to do in detroit is frind the gate.. (phew!) and she said ask the attendant/stewardess for help/tell her it's my first flight and i'm alittle nervous and they should be able to help me... I'm just hoping hannah wont try and run off.. also my sisters planning on getting hannahs pictures taken while were there,and hannah decided this morning to pester the dog,and he scratched her nose!! hopefully they can cover it up on the picture.. she also ran into the bedroom doorknob! lol she's accident prone lately... i leave in the morning, i'll let you know how it went ! :)

Im back and we had a BLAST! :) It was easier than I thought it would be to find the gates,and even the luggage.. Hannah listened to me most of the time. She did get alittle snotty though,because she couldnt gt right on the plane right away.. I had lobster and clams while I was there, and hannah got to visit the firestation..we went to the mall,got our pictures taken, went to build a bear,and then chuckecheeses! I won 450.00 at bingo and my mom won 75-,so we split it all and i had almost 300.00 extra on me! :) did quite a bit of shopping! my sister bought me clothes,and then when we got back yesterday.my husband took us all out to dinner! :D He missed me VERY much..we also started back where we left off, ttc! ;) He said we'll keep trying,till we succeed!! **crossing my fingers** ((hugs)) to you all!

I've flown all over the place with my daughter, since she was 4 months old we've traveled around the planet about 4 times and been in a plane crash together.
Now at 3 we are both old hands. Bring lots of kiddie treats, bum supplies, hand sanitizer, some old favorite toys, and what's always worked for us is a brand new wrapped something to open on the plane and fuss over... even if its just stickers or a coloring book.
the #1 most important thing I do with her is... PUT A LUGGAGE TAG ON HER.(Vivi usually travels in an shirt and jumper ensamble.. easy to put a sweater over, easy to change undies /diapers, get em up and down, easy to strip down if its really hot, and there's that great little strap over the shoulderd for a luggage tag. You never know if you will get seperated, so... label your littlie like the precious cargo they are.
