I've studied yoga off and on since college, but mainly, until recently, as a form of exercise. Last spring, however, I experienced spontaneous kundalini awakening (fortunately under very pleasant circumstances) and have since begun to learn about kundalini yoga. Is there anyone else here who, not just "practices", but studies and practices yoga, especially kundalini yoga? As I have begun to learn and practice kundalini yoga, it has probably been the most life-altering spiritual experience for me since I first discovered paganism, and I'm hungry to know more. There's a study group at the Lotus Room in Ithaca that will be reading and discussing yogic texts, and I'm hoping I can get in on that. In the meantime, I'd like to discuss it and share resources with anyone who actually knows what they're talking about.

My two favorite kundalini yoga websites: http://www.kundaliniyoga.org

Thanks for these great links. I had visited the first site a long time ago, went through a small portion of the info and enjoyed it very much.

Is Kundalini yoga more focussed on Sikhism? I read some info about Sikhism and noticed many of the spiritual/sacred words used in the info I have read about Sikhism were used in a "chakra yoga" recording I have used in the past. Ek on Kar, sat nam, siri, wahe guru I believe from memory.

I am going to take a good look through the yoga exercises on the second site you posted.

I truly love yoga, however, I haven't followed a single path for any length of time to know which one I prefer. I've dabbled in Hatha, Ashtanga and Kundalini yogas.
