I adore cinnamon in every way shape and form. Can someone tell em what magikal uses it has?
Is there danger in consuming too much? How should it be used/ consumed? What do you use it for? What has worked best for you?
Also... where's a good place to order it online for a good price?

cinnamon is lovely
it correspondends to fire elements.
Native to Ceylon (Sri Lanka), true cinnamon, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, dates back in Chinese writings to 2800 B.C., and is still known as kwai in the Chinese language today. Its botanical name derives from the Hebraic and Arabic term amomon, meaning fragrant spice plant. Ancient Egyptians used cinnamon in their embalming process. From their word for cannon, Italians called it canella, meaning "little tube," which aptly describes cinnamon sticks. In the first century A.D., Pliny the Elder wrote of 350 grams of cinnamon as being equal in value to over five kilograms of silver, about fifteen times the value of silver per weight. Medieval physicians used cinnamon in medicines to treat coughing, hoarseness and sore throats. As a sign of remorse, Roman Emperor Nero ordered a year's supply of cinnamon be burnt after he murdered his wife. The spice was also valued for its preservative qualities for meat due to the phenols which inhibit the the bacteria responsible for spoilage, plus the aroma masked the stench of aged meats.
The origin of cinnamon was a highly-guarded secret of the Arabs, who first brought cinnamon to the West. They concocted a number of magical myths to hide the location of the crops and enhance the mystique of this spice fit for a king.

Cinnamon was burned to purify the temple. It also promotes health, vigor and libido.
Cinnamon is lovely and just fabulous, try adding a pinch of cinnamon to your coffee to give it an added zing!!!

Just wondering....How about boiling it as an infusion to scent your entire home? Does that have the same effect as burning it?

I like to use cinnamon in any oil or incense where I need a little extra oomph. It's a firey herb, yet warm and spicy. Like a slow burn. It has a way of pulling together all the powers of each ingredient in your blend, and then amplifiying them. It makes a great magical catalyst.
I would like to note, that it is not a good idea to use cinnamon oil in any blend that you are going to be using on your body. It burns like a mo-fo. So be careful.

I would also use it in any spell where you're trying to draw up your courage.

Hey I just did this today only I also added cloves to the mix. I think the scent isn't quite as strong as when you actually burn it but it still makes your kitchen smell nice.

I took a whole bottle of cinnamon stick, put them in a plastic bag and crushed with a hammer.... VERY POTENT.... Simmer in about 3 in of water :D

You may already know this, but the chocolate "cakes" that Ibarra makes have cinnamon in them. They are made to be used for a chocolate drink, but I just eat them as chocolate. As you might imagine, the cinnamon gives them a very distinctive--and pleasant!--character.
Something every cinnamon lover should know.

mmmm! Cinammon is so yummy! I find it to give me a relaxed, comfy state. I particularly like that scent in the fall and winter.
My bf put some cinnamon in the pancake mix a few days ago. Sooo good!!

I anoint my forhead with it. But I mix it with a carrier oil. Because it burns like the dickens. But yes I share your affinity for cinnamon. It DOES go well with clove.

Fall seems to put me in a baking mood, and in a cinnamon mood. So I've been putting cinnamon into everything I bake! lol - EVERYTHING.
I've never thought about using it for rituals, but now that the idea is put before me, that actually sounds pretty useful. I think I'm going to try that. Yes, using a carrier oil to burn it or use it as annointing oil both sound about right... I'm not sure how else you would use it....

The spice must flow!
I love cinnamon, I use it alot in the kitchen - mix it with honey and its good for putting on porrige, toast ect. On its own in curries, sweet pastries ect.
I don't know a great deal about natural medicines, but I use it to treat colds and digestive upsets (just an excuse to have an extra cinnamonish hot chocolate tbh). Its microbial properties means it makes a good ingredient in home made face masks (oatmeal, honey, cinnamon - just like what I eat for breakfast :P) to clear and invigorate the skin.
I burn cinnamon oil to clear a room of negative energy after there's been an argument or someone with a bad mood in there. I find that the scent grounds me quickly but gently.
I heard that there has been research into cinnamons effects on diabetics - Good stuff apparently but I can't recal what exactly so you'll have to dig it up yourself.
Also its a good insect repellant.

Oooh I LOVE that chocolate, it's so delicious. I've got to get some more, it's starting to get chilly and I want hot chocolate.
I like to warm apple cider with cinnamon sticks in it and drink that on a cold day. It's also good to put a stick in some hot coffee for a little extra spice.
