Hi,
I was wondering how people interpert the Court Cards: Queen of Cups, Page of Swords, etc?
I have been told that they are suppose to represent actual people, but I find it very difficult to read them like this. So are there other ways of looking at them, and if so what?
(Hope that makes sense :hahugh:)

You trust your intuition and the connection you make with the person you're reading (if that is someone besides yourself). Sometimes court cards do represent a certain type of person (i.e. male or female, young or old, generous or stingy, etc.). Sometimes they signify another type of message. For the last 10 years or so I've been using key words or ideas from a book called The Intuitive Tarot by Richard Gordon. Here's an example of what he suggests one of the court cards might mean:
Queen of Swords - A brown haired woman, a person not to be crossed, a person with a sharp mind who is willing to listen to new ideas. Or a person who needs to develop a more assertive nature.

So, it could be describing a person involved in the situation somehow, or it could be describing a need to practice being more assertive.

Other ways of reading the court cards are to follow these simple rules.

All Page's are Earth and represent a beinging of a new stage.
All Knights are Fire and represent the creative energy of developments.
All Queens are Water and represent the emotional faculty of a suit.
All Kings are Air and represent the mental faculty of a suit..

Page of Penticals is Earth of Earth think of the qualities of the suit of penticals. Skill builders people willing to work to atain what they wish for. The Page of Penticals heralds the begining of a new career or a new stage of development.
Page of Wands is Earth of Fire a more dynamic personality than the Penticals. This pages heralds the begining of a new enterprise.
Page of Cups is Earth of Water often apears as the new love interest or at the begining of a new relationship.
Page of Swords is Earth of Air heralds new modes of thought. Often someone of a quick and bright turn of mind.

Knight of Penticals is Fire of Earth represents a methodical aproach to enterprise.
Knight of Wands is Fire of Fire is a very dynamic ellement. Double fire ellements shows passion to create but becarefull for fire can consume itself. Often when this card shows up the fire of passion for an enterprise will burn itself out all to fast.
Knight of Cups is Fire of Water a cooling ellement with fire produces a day dreamer who dreams passionate dreams.
Knight of Swords is fire of Air a passionate thinker.

Queen of Penticals is Water of Earth
Queen of Wands is Water of Fire
Queen of Cups is Water of Water
Queen of Swords is Water of Air

King of Penticals is Air of Earth
King of Wands is Air of Fire
King of Cups is Air of Water
King of Swords is Air of Air.

Remind yourself of the elements of the court cards when ever you don't feel the card fits totaly with a person and see how the elements might fit in before you give up on them totaly.

The court cards can be very hard to read at times but if you can remember their dynamic elements you will find it comes a lot easier for you. Oh and your deck may make Wands Air and swords Fire, if so then you need to awop those elements around but make sure you leave the Knights always as fire and the Kings always as Air.

Understanding the Tarot Court by Mary K. Greer & Tom Little. Pick it up, do the exercises. Get to know the cast of characters that the court cards represent in the tarot & in your life. :)

I also did a study group with this book here: http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=32366&highlight=court+card
