Does anyone here worship the Sumerian gods, and do you know of any sites on the Sumerian/Mesopotamium(sp) gods, and religion, it's just i've become interested in Sumerian/Mesopotamium/Babylonian (i'm not sure if they're different or the same) reconstructionism, and i'd like to know a bit more about it, but i haven't found many sites on them or books, does anyone have anything?

Also if you've had any experiences with them, what have they been like?

Thanks.

I worship the Sumerian gods.

Here are some good sites I have found:
Gateways to Babylon (http://www.gatewaystobabylon.com/) is a good Mesopotamian site. Most of the info is generally Babylonian but they also include information on the religion of Sumer and Akkad.

The Tablet of Destiny Yahoo Group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TabletofDestiny/) is also a good place to discuss general Reconstructionism. The creator of this group is a Sumerian Reconstructionist.

The Electronic Text Corpus of Sumerian Literature (http://www-etcsl.orient.ox.ac.uk/) is a supposed site, but I still can't figure out how to use it (hehe).

Also, I recommend reading lots of books on the mythology and history of Sumer (and generally Mesopotamia if you are intrested in that too). Samuel Noah Kramer is a famous Sumerologist and his work is a good start.

You will find a lot of information in the works of Zacheria Sitchen (?), who wrote a series of books, mostly concerning the Sumerian gods. "The Twelth Planet" is essential.

For a while I was quite interested in Nammu, Sumerian goddess but I lost touch with her. :(

I included the Sumerian Dragon Goddess Tiamat in a presentation I put together on "Dragon and Goddess." I got most of my information online - can't remember specific sites but the data is out there.
:fpraise: Interesting how many creation myths of eastern civilizations involve dragons.
