Do you have a thing you always do and stuff you always buy for treats? Do you have a hunt? Does your extended family have a dinner?:bouncysmi

My family always gets small baskets with candy from our parents. Easter egg hunts ended when my youngest sister was about 10, but we still observe our candy needs! We never have a special dinner - except when we still went to church we usually stayed for potluck brunch which was pretty good.
Since I've been away at college for the past four years, I'm a bit reluctant to see what Easter brings my broken family anymore...

When we go to my mom's house for Easter, we set the baskets out before bedtime, and the bunny comes and fills them up before the kids get up in the morning. We usually go into town to the courthouse where they have hunts for the different age groups, and then go back out to the house to have a hunt of our own. My mom usually makes a big brunch, and those that want to go to the late morning church service. :)
As for what traditions we'll start with our own little family... I don't know. But I plan to start something when my son is a little older and actually interested in doing more than smooshing stuff.

Well, instead of hiding the eggs.. we hide the baskets.. (this has been a tradition in our family since before I was born). The bunny comes and hides the basket after filling it with candy and little toys. Then we all head over to the extended family who celebrates the Christian aspect of Easter by going to church with them (it keeps them from harping on us too much about not believing what they believe) and then have a huge late lunch, early dinner with ALL kinds of foods..

We hide candy and money filled eggs, and then have baskets for the kids.A trip to my Mother's for brunch, and a trip to the in-laws for dinner follows, all with easter baskets and egg hunts for the kids.
