Hrmm... I'm not sure... I could only look at it for a minute, cause I'm home alone and I didn't want the bejeebers scared outta me.
I definitely agree that there is something strange about the boy's eyes. To me, they looked way too old to be in such a little boy. Maybe it's something to do with his "sister" looking like a doll too.
What I really didn't like is the hands on the window behind them. *shivers* That's enough talk about that for me for now.
Good luck in finding a way to forget the image. Let me know if one comes to you.

try doing a banishing ritual. Imagine your head filled with light. Take a shower with aromatherapies and imagine the scents and water cleansing your mind and soul, blessed by the goddess.
I think whomever the boy who was painted, or perhaps the painter, was a very tortured soul. Somehow, that anguish got embedded in the art, which is not unusual. Try to let it go. Chances are, a lot of obcessing about it will make it seem much worse.
*hugs* best of luck

Oh man that is one creepy picture!
I wonder if I would have had the heebiejeebies if I didn't read anything about it first. Whoever painted this well, to put it mildly, had issues. After reading about the owner's kids experiences... oh yeah, no problem going to bed now!
I wouldn't let it bother you though. (I know, yeah right) don't ever look at it again. there's a start. The banishing suggestion is a good idea.

tis a creepy picture no doubt, that is it's intent, the whole thing is geared towards creeping observers out. It is the sum of it's parts, the girls blank eyes the hands and faces in the window behind them the blackness hidding the figures the wonderfully depicted emotionless stare of the boy and the almost scared look in the girls face, the wood and all that had a tint of red which really unnerves people for some reason but hey it is such a cool painting that I want it! I have a perfect place for it, on the back of my bedroom door. keeps the boogies in the closet

What I find amusing is all the hubbub about how they supposedly caught on camera the boy leaving the painting, then
"THERE ARE NO GHOSTS IN THIS WORLD , NO SUPERNATURAL POWERS, THIS IS JUST A PAINTING, AND MOST THESE THINGS HAVE AN EXPLANATION, IN THIS CASE PROBABLY A FLUKE LIGHT EFFECT. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO BID ON THE ARTWORK, AND CONSIDER THE LAST TWO PHOTOGRAPHS AS PURE ENTERTAINMENT, AND PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM INTO CONSIDERATION, WHEN BIDDING."
Ok, so why mention all that crap or post the pics at all?
Be sure you saw
"Have you had any unusual reactions from viewing these photos? If so, be sure to let us know! We will forward any relevant responses to the new owner, "The Lucky Bidder." Email us at: contact@surfingtheapocalypse.com"
and email them!
Puma came up with great suggestions. If you still feel crappy try cleansing your home with white sage and white candles, cast a circle, fill your home with white light, etc.

wow i had alot of typos in my 2nd post, "As i was draw in further everything around him became black, untill i saw was him" what i ment to say was as i fell deeper and deeper into his eyes everything around him, including my computer and all my stuff, began to turn black, untill all i could see was him.
sorry just thought i wouid clear that up, it was really bugging me, anywho, thanks for all the suggestions, ill be sure to update you on my mental state if it gets better, or wore.................

Oh man, I happened to come across that pic a couple of months ago and became so "entralled" with it, I couldn't look away for nearly ten minutes. 0_o And then for the rest of the evening it felt as if he was hovering over my shoulder, watching everything I did.
I was really spooked, so right before bed I visualized myself confronting the boy in the picture, asked him to please move on and try and find peace somehow. I did that a few times to calm my nerves, went to bed and woke up fine. =)

I thought the doll was creepier than than the boy. nothing enthralling here just weird. :eyebrow: Really weird.

^^; lol yes, I think that doll was more terrifying than the boy. Creepy! But it's just a scan of a painting. Certainly it would not have the power to do something bad, even if the origional painting did, and what little power it has, it probably would not have if you denied it so. I like what you did, Tora. That's a good idea.
LunarWind- Sometimes when you stare at things, everything but that thing will turn black in your vision. It's a weird eye thing. Ask an optomologist about it some time. Next time you get your peripheral vision tested, an dyou have to stare at that mark while all the little dots go off in your peripheral vision, make a note of how things'll turn darker around your peripherals and you have to blink to make it go away. It's a weird physiology thing.

Though, it's not a picture I would want hanging in my house, it didn't bother me that much. No shivers or feelings of evil. Maybe it's coz I need new glasses.

I saw this several months ago too, and it did give me the creeps.
Okay, so I had the creeps and I showed it to a friend and asked her to 'look inside' of it. What she said is that it is actually a self portrait. It was painted by a man who still sees himself as a little boy. The little girl was actually one of his 'victims'. From what I've heard/read the picture was found in an abandoned home - thing is, no one really wants it. Hey, she could be wrong about it, and I've gotta tell you, I don't scare easily, but I do have a hard time looking at it, even now when I opened it.
Don't freak out, just cleanse yourself of the vibes you got and forget about it, and don't look at it again.

I saw this for the first time a long time ago. I thought it was weird then and I think it's weird now. And I've always thought the 'reactions' to this are BS. I don't believe that anything or anyone has any power over you that you don't give it. But that's just me I guess.

I saw this picture a year or so ago on another website, and it too scared the hell out of me, but for some reason, my amusement towards the seller's "description", especially about how the original owner's daughter said the doll came out of the painting (:rotfl:), was greater than my fear. Then I gave it to my best friend who was totally freaked out about it, which erased any or all fear I had about it. ::sighs:: Goddess, I need help. ;)

It is a creepy picture! I looked at it and it does seem one is drawn to the little boys eyes. I still see them even though I am not looking at the picture at the moment. Have you been able to get rid of the boy in your mind yet?
The other thing that struck me is the little girl has no eyes, just black holes where they eyes should be. It is truely a freaky painting.
Good Luck *hugs*
Blessed be!

That painting is so cool. The hands in the back behind the window, the unconsciousness of the girl making her look like a doll, and the boy just standing there waiting to see what he can do next. I love it. Reminds me of the innocence of children, the blank stares showing how a child hasn't really yet seen the world and then the hands behind the window showing the problems in the world grabbing out of them. I also like the moon behind the window. It's a pretty awesome piece of art for those that can handle it without getting the heeby cheeby haunted house bah kneebies!

Either I am the Prince of Darkness or that picture doesn't scare me... I mean yeah it has a dark tone to it, but I do not feel Evil coming from it... Mostly misunderstanding and innocence.

I kinda like it. I wouldn't want it in my bedroom or anything but it's cool in a creepy sort of way.

I really liked it. It was kind of creepy but no more than it was intended to be. There was certainly nothing evil about it, IMO. The only reason people make a big deal out of it is because of the outlandish hype it got. The sellers probably used that as a clever marketing ploy. Nice work though...bravo to the artist. The hands in the window were a great touch. Damn i wish i could paint like that.
