I have a question for Christian witches, have you ever heard of the book Ancient Christian Magic by Marvin Meyer (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0691004587/qid=1143320267/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/002-0778611-8152026?s=books&v=glance&n=283155), i've read some reviews of it and it seems good, it talks about the magic practiced by the early Christians and shows that the early Christian's did practice magic, i thought it migf ht come in useful if you're a Christian witch, i don't think it's a 'how to' book, it's a scholarly book, i think, and i don't think it has any 'fluffy stuff' in it either, i thought if you aybe wanted to practice magic that the early Christian's did, maybe you might want to take a look at it.
Anyway, have you heard of it, or own it, what do you think of it?.

I haven't heard of it, but it does look like a very interesting read. I love scholarly books on religious and historical stuff!
I saw something on the History Channel that covers a little on Egyptian influences on Christian magic (Coptic Christianity), and I wouldn't mind a book like this that seems to cover the same material.

Hello David19,
Yes, I own it. I would recommend having a look through it first before purchasing it, as it is quite specialised.
Rather than a historical thesis, it is more a collection of magical charms/spells with interjected commentary and a few lengthier discussions. As a historical collection it is highly fascinating.
Keep in mind that the topic is specifically about coptic Christians. For Christopagans interested in Egyptian religions, it might therefore be of great interest.
