Hello everyone!!! I'm uh, really new. I've never been trained in anything remotely pagan, so I'm not sure if I even belong here. I was raised as a Roman Catholic and I've very proud of it and strong in my faith, but there is something missing... :( There are a lot of my own personal beliefs that most Christians turn their backs on me for. Especially when it comes to the respect that I hold for the Earth. They seem to think that my connection with her is evil...yet that doesn't feel right. I guess I'm just trying to find those whom I can talk to without receiving a cold shoulder for my efforts.

Hi,
My friend and I are new also. I was also raised Roman Catholic and many years ago felt that there was something missing. I had many disagreements with the church. My friend was raised Baptist. But always had interest in alternate religion. We have so many questions. Maybe we can learn together. We both understand the implied "taboo" that culture has put on Wicca for centuries. Although it wont stop us from learning it still exists. We went out today and bought a couple of books and have been researching on the web. If you learn of any good learning materials please let us know.

Hi! I have a few friends that practice Wicca. I don't even know which path I'll be following. But I'd be glad to pass on any information that I find to you and your friend! :) I wish you both the best of luck and let me know if you ever need anything. May our journeys both lead to personal freedom.

Welcome Celtic Angel, and Kindred Spirits, it's good to see you both have things in common already. You've found a lovely site here, full of information and friendliness. Keep an open mind, ask all the questions you want, take on board things that "feel" right and reject those that don't. Above all Enjoy :bigredgri

We seem to be a rare group. The site hasn't been on the fire that long, it still needs to be flipped. ;)

I haven't been into Wicca all that long myself. I live in the state of Mississippi, and most people around me are Southern Baptist. I went to a Baptist Church for a few years, and always felt different; like something was missing. I wasn't sure what, but I could "feel" it. I couldn't always be sure of what the preacher was preaching. At times he looked like he wasn't so sure himself. That right there wasn't a good impression to me. I then decided to try to take on a path of my own. I found Wicca by reading some book. It wasn't a Pagan book or anything, but just a story. I then came across the word Wicca and Witches, etc. I then got on the Internet, went to a search engine, looked it up, and felt pretty good about myself. Wicca to me is like a whole new outlook on life itself. We see life in nature. Everything on this Earth has it's purpose, and we are at one with nature. Each of us have to find our own path, and I feel like this is definately the right one for me.

Welcome to you both! I'm sure you'll find us very informative and friendly. These are some of the best people you'll ever meet, take it from me!
Bluecat has the lemonade and he's always happy to share. There's always a big comfy chair out on the front porch for ya ;) Gunner has the ice for the lemonade, and I'm the one with a big hug for everybody! (Please do not confuse me with a Teletubby. ICK!) :bigredgri
Kick back, enjoy the lemonade and the view, and jump in on the conversations. We always enjoy a fresh point of view! :sunny:

Since BlueCat and Gunner are, appearently, asleep at the wheel, let me welcome you and offer you what Kaylara had such a hard time with.
C'mon up on the porch here. Take a comfy chair and have a glass of ice cold lemonade.
Celtic_Angel, enjoy your stay, Merry Meet and we'll see ya next weekend, eh??

I too am a recovering Southern Baptist. I have known something was not quite right since the age of seven. Discovered Wicca several years ago then became rather eclectic. Follow you heart and you will find your path.
In the meantime, pull up a comfy chair and have a glass of lemonade - better hurry thoug 'cause BlueCat and Gunner will be around soon to refill that for ya.

Welcome
I attended a Christian High School and also felt that something was missing. It wasn't for around 10 years later when I attended a MIND, BODY & SPIRIT FESTIVAL that I found something that felt right and true to Me. And that was Wicca.
Blessed Be,
