Today i read somethings about the Aesir, and it said that they originally came from Asia, is this true?, also if it is, what part of Asia, like would it be India, China, Japan, etc?
Thanks.

He may be referring to whats in Heimskringla which continues to say that Odin is the chief of the main town of a land in Asia to the east of Tanakvisl, called Asgard. Odin was mighty warrior, won many kingdoms for himself, went with his army against the Vanir but they withstood him.In time both sides finally got tired of raiding each others lands, made peace, exchanged hostages (Frey, Freya, Njord and so on). Odin worked magic and looked into the future, he knew that his offspring was to dwell inthe northern parts of the world, so he set off for that place with his priests and many of his people. The Prose Edda also says Odin went north to Sweden from Turkey. "The king there was called Gylfi and, when he heard of the expedition of the men from Asia, as the Aesir were called, he went to meet them and offered Odin as much authority over his kingdom as he himself desired."
Heimskringla says that Odin was fair and noble in his looks, and it also explains how come he is thought of as a god, and it tells of his shapeshifting, his ravens, his wolves and so on.

Snorri in his Prose Edda and in the Heimskringla tries to justifiy the worship of Norse Gods, by making them out to be Asians/Trojans whom were so amazing in their abilities they fooled the people of Scandinvia into thinking they were gods. Snorri while an awesome historian for recording much of Norse history and beliefs, was Christian and so his scope on things are a bit slanted at times. Either he really could not figure out how else people could come to believe in any god other than the Christian one, was trying the tie Scandinavian culture to the classical Greek/Roman one or had to put this sort of disclaimer in his works in order to not be persecuted for writing about the pagan beliefs. There is no evidence as far as I know of the Norse gods coming from Troy/Asia and this theory is not mentioned anywhere else.

It's heresy only if you are willing to believe it.

Funny how those disclaimer things work huh??? i mean, he was writing after all about a tradition/custom that wasnt his, so how do we know he wasnt writing it wrong? I mean Snorri was from there, but not one of them.

The big horse is evidence of the Norse the Gods...? That makes very little sense. I mean, I doubt Odin would be fooled by a giant horse anyways, they would have taken it and sunk into a bog or something. Or perhaps flung it over the sides of the walls of troy and crushed a few of king arthur's men... oh wait, wrong story
