There was a thread on the aeclectic.net spirituality forum some time ago that gave a link that led to a short test that would tell you which religion most closely linked with your beliefs. :evilway:

The test told me that I was a 99% in alignment with Druids! I don't know anything at all about Druids! (sorry I failed to find the link)

I have a strong affinity to tarot and magick. Any harm I cause others is entirely unintentional. Do Druids have a method for concentration on actions? A method of magick? Are other methods allowed? What makes someone a Druid? Are there any rules about it? How does one become a Druid?

I assure everyone in advance that this is an entirely sincere request for information - I hope I haven't offended.

First of all you need to understand that there are many types of "Druid".
For instance there are those who follow a tradition that has been passed down through their family for untold generations.
Then there are those who belong to one of the Neo-Druidic (meaning new druidic) orders such as the OBOD.
There are also people who have had no Druidic training of any kind, but feel a kinship to what they *think* Druids are, and call themselved Druids for lack of a better word.

By MY tradition it takes many years of study and pratice before you become a Druid, just as it takes many years of education to become a doctor or a lawyer.

As far as "methiods" of magick, this depends on the Druid that you are talking to.
While there are usually specific ways of doing things within a specific tradition, these same cerimonies (or even weather or not they use cerimony or ritual) can vary greatly from one tradition to another.

I encourage you to browse through the various threads in this forum. You will find that there are almost as many ways of viewing Druidism as there are Druids, and we don't always even agree on what the path consist of, let alone how to pratice Druidism.

First, Welcome to MysticWicks and the druid forum!!!

I like your questions. They are some of the same I had when I first investigated "the druids" and the modern day path of the same.

First, the test you took. I dislike and question the validity of any test that would try to decypher something as personal and individual as the spiritual quest. Allthough it DID bring you here so I thank them for that! ;)

The test told me that I was a 99% in alignment with Druids! I don't know anything at all about Druids! :D ;)

That's why we are here. As my Fluid Friend said, check out the thread archive ( go to the bottom of the threads screen and click show threads from the beginning). Most of the more basic questions are answered there, along with links to other places with more detailed information.

-Do/did the Druids have a system of magick (sic)?
I vote yes. I've seen it and used it. It's everywhere around you.
[More on that later] :p :D

Ooops,dinners on!

Peace
