Promise Land

Life is short, but life is grand.
God please tell me you have a master plan!
Love is tender, love is sweet.
Love can make you feel like you've been beat.
I wander here, and wander there.
Why do all the people stare?
I am lost in this planets strife.
I guess all we can do is live our life.
Confusion is my penance,
for this life of menace.
Lead me to the promise land.
I swear you won't have to hold my hand.
The bleak dreary solidarity of existence alone,
will drive me mad and into the unknown.
My god, please, take me home.
I am but a small insignificant part of this reality.
Yet I know there would be no life without me!
So I sit and wait anxious and full of piety.
Show me a sign, light my path.
As I know better than incur your wrath!
