well ass regards my jet issues
ive ended up getting a small oval of jet set in a silver setting was very cheap as imagine the people selling it didnt know how rare it is to not shtater when cut...

still want a ring and whitby seems the best palce so am hoping i can get one for my birthday


anyone know if jet has been used in ancient religions for a purpose or is assc to deities or specific paths

i mean i know the egyptian connection but jets so widely available but hard to cut....

Yeah the West coast USA is a real pain to get jet. The east coast is easier and cheaper. Many people from the west often fly to the east coast to get jet jewelry. And they save money includingthe air fare.
Jet is also called witchs's amber and black amber.From a quick research the only deity I found a connection with is Cybele,Greek goddess of growth and plants.

We have problems getting here in Utah. I do know that alot of ritual necklaces are made with jet and amber. I have seen alot of amber jewlery on line, but jet seems to be scarce. Have you considered looking into Estate Sales. Jet was popular during the 20's and 30's of the 20th century.

jet is fragile and coal like so hard to carve....

hence it being rare alot of places however common the actual stone is....

id prefer a new piece cause of the energies from a bought antique
