this is so strange

hi all.....i was not sure if this should go here or in paranormal, but i was hoping to get an outside sources take on what it could mean

i had a truly strange experience last night, and it actually kinda creeped me out

i fell asleep on the couch last night, and i was dreaming that i was having an outer body experience.....i was standing in the middle of my living room looking at myself asleep on the couch. i watched as the figure of a woman came towards me....she had tangled black hair that hung around her face, so i could not see her features, and was wearing a white dress that was stained and torn. she came towards me in very strange halting steeps. she looked like someone kept hitting the fastforward button on and off....quick, then normal.......the me that was standing and watching tried to wake the sleeping me up.......and when the woman was leaning over me i really woke up, and saw a dark figure (it doesnt help that i wear glasses and without them things are really fuzzy) i screamed and thrashed around, and after a second i realized that the woman wasnt there anymore and i was fully awake. i dont know if it was just a weird dream, or i really ran into some ghost...any ideas would be appreciated.

Hm. Sounds like the ghost in the movie Ju-on, the original Japanese version of the Grudge. Or that creepy little girl in the Ring, which also had an original Japanese version called Ringu. The Japanese are excellent when it comes to crafting creepy ghosts for their movies. :) This is going to sound awful and it's not meant to, but if you've seen either of those movies lately, maybe your brain is just working on overtime.

However I don't doubt that there are spirits wandering about, or that dreams have personal meanings. The dark figure sounds like it could be left over from your dream, but my concern is with the dream itself. Has there been anything odd going on around you lately? Do you have a history of ghosts being attracted to you? What about the place you're living in? Does is have a history of hauntings, or has anyone else experienced anything odd?

It might not even be a ghost at all, but some other kind of spirit, a messenger type. However, why the heck would she be scarily leaning over you? Jeez, lady, there's better ways to get a girl's attention!

I promise I'm not teasing you, because I don't doubt for a second that you saw what you saw. I'm just trying to make light because I've had experiences similar to this one and I know who truly scary they can be. I'm curious as to what your experience could mean.

Interesting and pretty creepy. I am not sure, I think sometimes when you're on the plane between sleep and being awake that you can be more sensitive to things and more apt to see something that might be there but on a different wavelength. I would think a ghost would fit in this category.

I don't have much to offer, but it was interesting to read. You definitely had an odd occurence.
