hehehehe..I keep hearing that John Lennon Song over, and over, and over again in my head today.

Anyway....Instant Karma got me today...thankfully...in a very positive way. I am so happy, I could scream out loud. Thank Goddess for these reminders of the power of Karma, and of doing good to others.

Random acts of kindness...can be so multiplied in the other world:)

Okay..here's my story.

This morning, whilst doing some family tree research on a very mysterious figure in my family line, I was on Ancestry.Com's message boards for German Ancestry.

I typed in the info that I already had on this individual, and asked if anyone had any leads. The only reply was from a woman who was also looking for someone with the same last name, only in her case, it was her husbands grandmother, and in my case, my Mother's Great Grandfather. My Ancestor settled in CT, this womans ancestor settled in Missouri. So anyway...I continued t research my family line, and though I came up with no leads on my line, i did find some names that matched this other womans query. I took the time to find her thread, and post the info that I found "accidentally" while researching my OWN family...and she responded ecstatically! I found her Fathers Grandmother's birth, death, and marriage records for her! She was very thankful, and that was all the "Reward" i needed. Doing family tree research can be a very time consuming and frustrating process. So I was so happy I could help someone else.

Anyway...as soon as I received her thankful reply, I checked my email box one more time, before I was going to log out for a while..and a message came in from a woman in Florida, who reccomended that I try the Latter Day Saints geneology research forum. I replied that I already had, but had come up with dead ends. Five minutes later, another email came through from this woman in Florida (not the woman who i'd provided with info regarding her family), who decided to punch in the names I provided her with in my quest, on her own computer, at the Latter Day Saints board. She tried a few tricks, with spelling changes, etc...and came up with JUST the records I was looking for!

The spellings that I had, had been inaccurate. But the dates of birth, matched up perfectly. The record reference she provided me with, will solve the mystery of exactly where my ancestor was born, his parents death dates, and the dates of births for his siblings, and much, much more!

So...I did a good deed, by providing information I found to one person..and not an hour later, received a wonderful gift of information in my search, by someone else...

Instant Karma, what a lesson! I am so thankful!

Isn't geneology fun?
I keep finding all sorts of neat stuff. I had an ancestor who was accused of witchcraft & put to death for it. Strange how things come full circle, huh?
I've been doing research into the Polish side of the family & now I get to tell all my self-righteous Catholic relatives that our ancestors were probably Jewish in the first place. I am SO looking forward to it. :rotfl:

Danus- that is so nice! I love when things like that happen. It keeps me on my toes when I get cranky and don't wanna be nice, but I swear, it happens too.

Congrats on getting so much work done on your ancestry- it must be fascinating. :)
