Does anybody here speak German?

I received an email today, from a geneology message board, pertaining to one of my ancestors. The problem is, that the sender wrote entirely in German..and I cannot translate it. I tried to get to several translation sites, but my computer wouldn't connect to them. Can anyone help me?

i used to be pretty much fluent, but long time, no use. i guess the old adage is true...dont use it, you lose it. i could probly work out most of it for ya, plus my friends pretty much fluent, if you need it! :)
