View Full Version : ChristianWicca ?!?!?

I just stumbled across this web site & thought it was weird, but
interesting.
I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!
It stirs up a bit of wicca, gnosticism, kabbalah, Goddess-worship, & Christianity, & calls it a 'new spirituality'. The symbol is a pentagram combined w/ a star of David & a cross. The 'founder' calls herself a witch, wiccan, & Christian, but not a pagan.
Oh well, you had to have guessed that it was coming. After all, there is a Jewish-witch site (that I do subscribe to).
Blessed Be (& Shalom!)

These are not linksI'm a newbie at computers & don't know how to add them.

I knew some ppl (throughout HS) who claimed to be ChristianWiccans. Though I personally failed to see their wiccan side I thought it was quite an interesting way to do things.

They are links and they do work. Very interesting. I also have met one or two who claim to be both Christian and Wiccan. I have a feeling that they might catch more hell for their religion than we do!

Oh look this topic has been brought up again...

New Pagans > christian and pagan? - http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10796

Just Talk > Christianity vs Wiccans - http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10796

New Pagans > Are their "Christian Wicca's" Is this possible? - http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2796

btw the bulletin board software automatically turns http://anything into links; it's smart enough to do that itself.

No, "they" don't call it that...."we" do, and the rest of society.

Anyway, this is completly off topic, and has been argued to death, and, as has already been pointed out, closed because of the argument.
This is the last you'll hear from me on the topic. FYI....many Christians, some of them on this board find the X to be offensive. That's what I was getting at.

You out there?
Say, how did you learn so much about computers? You're an engineer or computer specialist, right?
I swear, if you say that you just 'picked it up here & there', I am going to move to a cave & communicate by scratching pictures on walls.
A couple of months ago, I bought Solomon, the first p.c. since my Commodore 64 died, & this bloody thing seriously spooks me sometimes :RuNew: I keep doing stuff (like making links) w/o knowing how, or even knowing I could. I use computers at work, but all I can do with those crates is run SOME of my equipment.:dis:
I've been taking some on-line courses, but I don't seem to be learning much of anything (like how to make links). No, going to a formal school setting won't work for me: I work a weird schedule so I can't go on the same day & time every week, & I won't learn to drive.:(
But I am trying to learn 'computer stuff' (have patience with us rank beginners, I beg of you!) .
You must have a brain the size of a Buick.

If you wanted to learn how to make links, you need to learn HTML, Javascript, or some kind of online programming language. Computers have special hyperlink buttons sometimes, but online its all about code, and on this site the vB software translates the links "http://anywhere.com" into [ Url ] http://www.anywhere.com [ /Url ]. minus the spaces in the url tags.

You can do it with or without the code, but with the code you can change what the link says, so instead of anywhere.com, it could be just Anywhere or something of that nature.

On a website, you would use the anchor tag. <a href"http://...">Click Here</A>.

Yup I'm a software developer and web designer, just finishing up college in computer programming. We also keep a small network at home to play with.

Thanks for the compliments, that really made me smile :)

(psst kittie it's <a href = "http://...">Link</a>)

Well a great site to learn HTML (I used it to learn!) is http://htmlgoodies.com/ - it's got tons of tips and tutorials for you to learn HTML, JavaScript, etc.

Yep. that was a joke, btw ;). Also, dynamicdrive.com has some dhtml that helped me get the hang of tables. But htmlgoodies.com would be better for them. Joe has great tutorials.

Tutorials that you could use, in fact, to make websites about ChristianWicca.

If I can recall from childhood correctly I believe that one of the ten commandments went something like this: "Thou shall have no gods before me.." or something to that effect. Well if you're a Christian Wiccan or however they put it, then you are worshipping more than just the single God, right? Well......ummm....in the beliefs of a Christian, isn't breaking one of the ten commandments a "bad thing"? Doesn't that make you a bit of a sinner? So how do they get away with being Christian and Wiccan. Do they just worship the other gods during the day and at night ask forgiveness from God for having other gods before him? Ugghh, do you get what I'm saying? Isn't it a bit of a contradiction? Forgive me for posting but I am new here, and therefore I wasn't around when they posted stuff like this before. I am not a professional religious expert or anything so don't critiscize me if I am wrong, but I just could've sworn there was something hypocritical about Christian Wicca.

What about working Gods along with Him? After Him?

I may be wrong, but from what I understnad, the notion of "before me" does not indicate placement, ie order or hierarchy, but rather "in my presence", which menas that if I am your God, and I am always with you, there shall be none other with you, before Me.

In the end, I'd say it's not for any of us to look at their beliefs, and think it's hypocritical, false, or that it doesn't make sense. As with all people, of all paths, they are the only ones who can be accountable, or answer to their beliefs. They are the only ones who can judge their own spiritual walk. If it makes sense to them, if they've come to an understanding of it. Then..So Be It. As long as it's not hurting anyone :)

That's what it comes down to. I might not call someone a Christian Wiccan; but then I wouldn't call half the people who say they're Wiccan by Wiccan either.

If someone feels satisfied and comfortable then it's not my place to tell them "no that's not valid" because of my interpretations of something that was written by men anyway.

Woohoo! ::does a little dance::

Also want to add: my 2 cents above is not intended to either support nor refute the idea of the CHristian Wiccan. This is one debate on MW that I refuse to participate in, ever again!

lmao gee I have no idea why

Seriously this discussion is soooo overdone. Someone invariably gets upset about how their "rights to practice what they want to" are infringed - half the people think you can do whatever you want and the other half think you can't if you actually believe the Bible word for word no matter what or if you follow the "principles" of Wicca to the letter.. then someone goes "everyone practices Wicca their own way" and someone else thinks half the people are stupid then everyone thinks everyone else is stupid and the thread gets closed. And amber gets banned.. err wait :p

Who says they have to? They could worship Jesus and the Holy Spirit as masculine/femine equals, as they are. Yep, the Holy Spirits a woman. Its spelled feminiely (?) in the Bible, anyhow.

They could just sorta ignore the father ... just like in real life!

I don't think something like this is such a good idea, it is one thing tobe discriminated against, but another to join with them and still be called the heretic...the basic essence of the two concepts is so conflicting to begin with, that throwing them togather could bring down disasterous ideas to the world, like the ones that almost got me killed.
