i'm not into working with the fae or anything like that, never have been. however, i just asked in circle to learn a healing discipline, to be led to one that's right for me, and when i went to open the circle, i felt led to close my eyes and meditate instead... almost immediately i saw this beautiful forest with paths paved with white, glowing rocks, and a female elf took my hand and led me into this forest. she said her name was something like Ilangrael, and she covered first my hands, then my forehead, then went down the middle of my body with this dark blue glittery, shiny... stuff, kinda painted me with it, and said she was attuning me to a healing energy much like reiki, and that she would be my healing guide.
i know nothing about elves, and can't really find any good websites with info on them right now, and i'd like to know more about them and their connection to healing... so if anyone has any tips, info, or websites that would be helpful, i'd appreciate it.

Keep us posted on how things unfold for you... what your healing experiences for yourself and with other people are, and such like.
Can't offer any advice for the path you've described. I've worked with meditation and with Reiki, and am currently trying to learn about MAP by doing the "coning sessions".
What I do feel is that becoming a good healing channel is a path of development... at least it has been that way for me. Attunements or initiations are a beginning, and you have to practice over a period of time to be really effective for either your own healing or that of other people (or animals, or plants, etc).
All the best...

elves and healing? sounds iffy. ever heard of elf shot? imo, the best way to use elves in healing is to chase them off. :hehehehe:

Hello Indigo,
I PM'd you already but I thought I should put it in here that healing can come from multitudes of different sources, the Elven people do possess many healing abilities, and we shouldn't just think of them as warriors because any race, human or otherwise, has their warriors, but they also have their doctors, healers, philosophers, teachers, servants and kings.
The only difference is their culture, which may be difficult to understand since we only receive glimpses of their lives through dream, meditation and astral journeying, which, on this planet, are unacceptable forms to gain credible information.
It is just sad to see the lack of belief on this planet.
Anyhow, I believe your experience is a wonderful way to initiate you into the world of healers Indigo Rain and I am glad I ventured over to MW today to view it!
Bright Blessings,
Violet

a great book that might give you some insight on this would be
Nature Spirits and Elemental Beings - Working with the Inteligence in Nature, by Marko Pogacnik.
your experience sounds beautiful. i'm not surprised that you were given this gift, the devas, nature spirits, and all the beings in the earths kingdom will give healing to those who ask. continue being open to their guidance and you will learn more.
brightest blessings on your path

Wow, and I was amazed when I saw and heard an Oriental man (Dr. Usui himself?) speak to me when I got my Reiki 1 attunement.

I always thought elves were the "wee people" that lived in the forest and it was JRR Tolkein and such that made them the taller elves we know from AD&D and Lord of the Rings...

Almost everything I've seen on the topic of elves has been in conjunction with the element of earth. And earth, as most of you probably know, is widely called upon during healing rituals. These elves are earth spirits they may come in other forms as well, be it your subconsious interpretation or a true vision of the nature spirits. They are sent to guide you and protect you in your workings, I imagine your healing practices will feel amplified now. And yes I would also recommend reading up on all the elemental spirits...
Good Luck
and Many Blessings.

Ah, I didn't realize Elves were associated with Earth energies. I also had the thought that we tend to interpret things to fit what we know, so that part made sense to me.

I've just recently become conscious of the presence of angelic beings and now, after reading this thread, I have in my minds eye the thought of earthly, elemental beings being present during healings along with the angelic beings. It's quite interesting, I like the idea.

are fairies earth elemental spirits too? or can specific kinds of faries be different kinds of elementals? like a water fairy could guide you on water workings? and a garden fairy could help you with planting? how do you know if/when you have an elf or any kind of elemental in your presence?

it always boggles me when pagans don't know about elemental spirits.
yes faeries are also elemental spirits. yes there are different types of elementals.
there is much information on them.
please check out my recommendation earlier in this thread.
you will learn about the role of the elementals in the planet in Marko Pogacnik's book.
elementals are always in our presence! we live on earth after all. they are all around us. when you go to nature, they are there. they are in your home also. they are everywhere! they are tied to this planet.

Shamanistic practices are focused around the control of elemental spirits.
As such they utilise them to assist in healing practices. Sometimes after a healing the shaman will have a elemental walk with the sick/injured person to heal the person while they sleep and eventually call them back after the work is done.

Shaman's practices are focused on learning about existence and how to apply the knowledge in service to their community. And they work with many different types of spirits, not just elemental. Just wanted to clarify.

Thats what I was going to say. Elves aren't exactly the kind of people you go to if want advice about healing. Perhaps some of the sidhe but not elves, for the most part there are exceptions but it doesn't happen all that often.

Ofcourse, maybe saying all shamans are like this is a bit general. The one in particular i was talking about comes from an indiginous backing and uses tribal medicines to heal people and commonly refers to using "the little people" to carry out healing even psychic surgery in somecases on his patients.
