I was just wondering, does Kemetism (ancient and modern) have a lot in common with other African paths, such as Vodou, Santeria, etc.
It's just after reading different articles and posts (on both paths), it seems they share a lot of common themes, like honouring the ancestors (i think Kemetic 'pagans' do that, right), possession by deities (i can't remember the Kemetic name for it), magic, a group of gods and beyond them is another god or force (like in Vodou and Sanateria, i think there's a distant and remote creator god and then the Loa, and in Kemetism, you have Netjer and then the gods), and other things.
Does Kemetism and other African paths share a certain ancestry or have had the same influences (if so, what influences).
Also, does Kemetism (ancient and/or modern) have common elements with Middle Eastern religions, since, i think, i've heard that they did trade with several Middle Eastern countries, and war, and the ancient Egyptians adopted some other gods such as Anat(sp), the teenage Canaanite war goddess (i think) and are there any others, which brings me to another question, if the ancient egyptians adopted certain gods, do you do the same, like do you have any other gods that you worship aside from the Kemetic ones?.
And, is it true that the high priest (is that the word) of Kemetic Orthodox is also a Vodou practicioner?.
Thanks.
