I don't usually post in this forum.

But something prompted me to.

Does 'Nehuti' or 'Nahuti' ring any bell to anyone? This 'name'(?) came to me when I was meditating about Anubis/Yinepu.

Thanks and cheers,
Jolantru

"Nehuti" was the name of a liason between Israel and Babylonia back, back in them there Biblical times. (Historical, not scriptural, so leave me alone.)

"Nahuti" appears in the names of a couple of Aztec gods:
Nahuti Ehecatl -- a minor water god
Nahuti Ollin -- a creator god

That's all I can come up with just now.

Thank you, Erincelt.

Mmm, knowing Anubis/Yinepu, I think I would have continue researching/seeking. Anyone else?

Cheers,
Jolantru

First post on this message board might as well be to you, Saber. :)

nht is ancient Egyptian for "tree." No vowels were written in hieroglyphs, so for all we know, the word "nht" might well be pronounced as "nehuti."

Quil! :)

I am honored. *grin*

Mmm, 'tree' eh? Well, I know that Anubis/Yinepu has a sense of humor. And intelligence. And I see them entwined together - humor and intelligence. The kind of intelligence you see in a subtle smiling-wryly sort of way. Oops. I am babbling. :P

Thanks Quil. ;)

Nht can also be transliterated as Neheti - so why not Nehuti?

Nht is part of my Shemsu name from the house - it means tree or shelter.
Outside of that, I'm not sure what else it could mean. *shrug*

Thanks for reminding me of this. I have more info on nht now.

the transliteration nht can actually be two different words - nehet "tree, sycamore" or ne-Het "plea or wish"
neh is a noun meaning "protection, shelter" and neheti derives from this in my name (Bastmutneheti). since I'm a girl, I get that -et added to neh.
further, nHt is Nakht "strength or victory"

There are several ancient epithets and names that have these words in them. Amun and Ptah are both given the epithet "He who hears the plea" and

Nehet is also one of the names of Kemet "Land of the Sycamores" - it was the only nation in the known world that cultivated the sycamore fig in the ages past.

Of course, the vowels change depending on the pronounciation that different egyptologists prefer based upon their insights. ;)
I hope this helps you out, Jolantru.

Um, found this, matches exactly!

The Aztec time period was from 1300-1500. They lived in valleys, and the climate was mild. The language they spoke was Nahuti.

Nahuti Ollin/ Ollin/ Ollintonatiuh Aztec A creator god

Nahuti Ehecatl, Minor water god Aztec

Nahuatl is another translation of the Aztec language.

If you switch a few letters around, from Nehuti, you would get Djehuti, who is... well, Djehuti. But that's only if you're not certain you heard right, which you seem to be.

Too late how? Does it not apply anymore or have you already come to your own conclusion about it?
Just curious :)
I was suprised about the Aztec link myself. It matched 100% with the name you gave.

I have mostly come to my own conclusion. But I am still in the process of learning, I think. ;)

I need to look at the Aztec link again. *grin*
