Ok. first of all u need to specify the question. Where to start with wicca? where to start with this forum? For either question I recommend searching this site. there are a lot of great people with many different opinions and ideas. It is a wonderful place to learn new things and have your questions answered. Check the thread of Newbie links and you should get some good information. Mostly keep your mind open and soak up as much new knowledge that you can. Also check out the books for newbies and try that out. If you find an author you like by all means buy more of their books but remember to spread your horizons and read the opinions of many different people then decide on what works for you. calm down. take it slow at first and remember that we are always here to answer questions.

You've already started!! Thats it. you just start reading books and looking at sites. try some that are geared toward newbies. There are a lot out there. Teen Witch by Silver Ravenwolf was the one that I found most helpful starting out but the other people here can reccomend more. Read as much as you can...... talk to other like-minded people. As long as you approach wicca with an open mind and a pure intention you can't go wrong. The Goddess will lead you on the right path.

Pheonix has some pretty good suggestions. Don't be overwhelm by everything. Can I ask which books you have? Some of them are good as study guides to help you get started. I like recomending A Witch Alone by Marion Green. And you can ask questions here too! :D

Merry meet. Try the books forum to see what others are reading. Also while you're there, ask what books might be recommended.
If you have a specific question, Post it in the appropriate forum and you'll get answers faster than you can read them. Best of luck on your path. And welcome to Mysticwicks.
Blessings

Thanx Wildchild, I knew you'd be here sooner or later. Listen to her Phobik shes given some really great advice to others on here. Like she said don't be overwhelmed, take it easy. There is no right or wrong place to start. and maybe if you can tell us which books you've read then we can be better equiped to help you.

I don't have Cunningham's Solitary Practitioner but I seem to remember that he does give you some ideas how to start practicing Wicca & how to incorporate it into your life. Definitely start slow. Pick one thing to work on at a time. Keeping a journal will help too. Good for looking back later & see how far you've come.

well. . . I think that by being here, by asking that question. . . like everyone's said, you've already begun! You're reading, perhaps you're holding these beliefs close to you. . . that's it! Religion is one of those things where if you belive in it. . . you're doing it. That's how I see it, anyways ^^;

Welcome! You can't get too lost here. But always wander, it's the only way to find surprises! hehe

A lot of people feel confused when beginning. There's no simple "this is how you become Wiccan" list out there!

So, in the beginning.. I would read a lot - websites and books. Learn about Wicca and Paganism. Learn about the theology behind them, the different kinds of Paganism, the rules and principles and holidays, the deities, history, myths, and practices. Read all you can!! And remember you shouldn't just believe what you read - use your mind, make your own decisions on what different beliefs are and how you might fit them into your life.

Someday you might feel comfortable with dedicating yourself to some path, tradition, or belief, but you will *always* be learning about it.

And if you have a question ask us, we love to help! :)
