If you were to create a pantheon based on the icons of American Culture, who would the Gods be?

I have my ideas, what are yours?

Lady Liberty
Playboy Bunny
The Founding Fathers (esp. G. Washington, T. Jefferson and Abe Lincoln. would these be the Gods of Money?)
Marilyn Monroe?

Who would you put on the list?

How about the personification of Justice--the blind, toga-ed woman with a sword and scales. She seems pretty iconic to me.

And Superman could be the Hercules-esque god of Strength. And Wonder Woman. And Batman!

Those who would like to see the plethora of Gods (not including one's like Media) in American Gods, I highly recommend this site:

When I have time to sit down and choose out gods from the novel, I'll do so - though honestly, I'm not sure that we'd want to muddy the waters by introducing other methods of choosing these "new gods."
What works for Neil Gaiman's creations might not work for someone else. :idea:

Gaiman's include: Internet and Media
Internet is the spirit of the internet in all its manifestations.

So you could have the God, Fast Food - who could dress as Ronald McDonald one moment and be the Jack in the Box the next.
Or you could have the God, Red Tape - who is responsible for tangling the bureaucracy.

Though I think it's just as much fun to see who they would put on the list more specifically - i.e. John Wayne (who I would personally classify as the God of Bad Acting *ducks*)
