Are there any crystals/gems/stones that are harmful or dangerous to pets or pregnant women? How did you find out about them? Just curious.

Only thing I know of is that apparently malachite powder is poisonous so the stone shouldn't be scratched and the powder not inhaled but that it's okay to handle the stone itself.

Maybe someone else can verify if this really is the case.

I was looking through my Love is in the Earth crystal guide for crystals good during pregnancy. The recommendations include Halite, BUT say it should not be placed on the the abdominal area during pregnancy. This is the only one I've come across.

Cryptic you asked a very good question. Usually the limited research i`ve done with this subject are stones to help with pregnancy.

You could wear malachite as in a necklace. That is believed to help as well as jade and carnelian.

pregnancy: keep away of red jasper. use it but when the baby is due, or a week or two before the baby is due.

as for dangerous. everything that has any vibes, when used wrong can be more or less dangerous.

some stones, as serpentine-asbestos (fish eye or silver eye) are poisonous, and shouldnt be worn directly on the skin nor used internally (nor elexirs of those). the above stone contains asbestos.
there are other stones like:
zinober (cinnabarit) for example, that may contain metalic mercury

during pregnancy keep away or use with much caution all kinds of jasper actually as well as petrified wood

the petoskey stone (petrified cora)l though may be used.

jade and gate are good pergnancy protectors, especially such agates (or laced malachites) that look like an uterus that is protected by the laces surrounding it

and of course all the radioactive stones are always a danger,
for example
torbenite (uranium-copper)

also keep in mind that granite too has partly pretty high radioactivity

just so you knpow, rhodonited sterling silver jewelry, is made to not turn black by radiating it with rhodonium - which in itself can cause allergies, at least

and the blue topaz in jewelry, is made blue by radiation, as well as the less common "extraordinary" topazes like Mystic Fire etc, that all get their coloiurs through radiation.

keep away from the uranium glass as well, which is a relict from the 1950s mainly, a bright green glass that in deed is radiated by uranium, and is very toxic

Cool thanks Czech...I am new to crystals so I wanted to get an idea of which ones to avoid.
