I am feeling the presense of michief in my life and I'm not sure if it's a trickster deity or something else....
....it just seems like everytime I expect something and am excited about it (no matter what it is) something bad happens that gets in the way. Is this just bad luck? Fate? Or a trickster?
What are your opinions?

Put this in the Gods and Goddesses section because my gut tells me it has something to do with gods, though it may be something else.... maybe I am just really unlucky in some areas?

Hmmm...

I'm afraid this is apart of normal life. This "bad luck" is natural to life, and where life exists, it will follow. Learn from the things that go wrong and move on. Try to take measures to prevent things from going wrong, and when something is planned expect the worst to happen.

Here (http://roso.epfl.ch/dm/murphy.html) is where you can learn more about the lessons taught by this particular "demon."

That's just Eris being bitchy.

Or "Bob" on his best behavior.

So which deity is your mode of perception/being/whatever likely to be pissing off?

Enough misfitted visionaries die young for one to suspect that whatever sees it's interest in propping the up staus quo takes challenges very personally.

On a less paranoid note, it sounds like you imagine scenarios of the near future with sufficient intensity to devitiate them. It's as if the collective overmind registers your thoughts and plans as something that has already occoured and doesn't need to happen twice.

You could learn to cultivate detachment, in fact it might be something you need to work on. Easier said than done I know and frankly I think it sucks too.

I thought I should suplement this, if what I describe is what is actually happening it may be possible to learn how to use this to protect yourself from really bad situations by anticipating and devitiating every negative outcome.

I use the term devitiate, to deprive of it's vitality, because it feels almost like a vampiric way of sucking the life out of a potential future.

Who says any particular God has to be pissed off?

Every account of them has them buggering around with the lives of people who didn't do anything other than excel at something.

Gods are pettier than PTA boards.

Why are the obstacles and challenges set before you "bad?" Why should you not have to pay for what you want by having to face and overcome these obstacles? Why should existence be easy? Nothing is free.

They are bad because they usually manifest as sickness (colds, infections, etc) that make it impossible or difficult to do things the way that I wanted. ie: Excited about a romantic dinner/date. Day before: get a cold sore, infection, flu. Things like that.

Meh.
