I wanted to start learning how to interpret the tarot cards and I came across the book "Tarot for Idiots" I was wondering what your opinions on the subject were before I spend the money on it. Oh and try to ignore the fact that it calls you an idiot in the title!!!

lol :D Merry Meet!
I dont know about the Idiots books.. they are all very simple and basic for the subjects Ive looked at..
Id say dont waste your money until you have had a go at ~ study your deck with your deck ~ take each card and try to have some quite time with it, listen to what your inner voice is saying about each card, you will learn allot :)
Every 'general' book on the tarot is very general and you can find out the same information on the web by doing card searches or right herre with our discussions on each card ~ just go through them all and read all our comments, you can always join in and tell us what you think your cards/deck is telling you.

Pheonix, have you checked out www.learntarot.com ? It's pretty good. I didn't use the deck the author recomended but it wasn't too hard to follow along. The nice thing is it's free! :D

"The Complete Idiot's Guide to Tarot Card Reading and Fortune Telling" is a wonderful book! I recommend it heartily.
However, once you get past the Tarot part and get into the Fortune Telling section....things get stretched quite a bit and it looks like they padded the book to make it thicker.

You can download Joan Bunning's course at www.learntarot.com and use it offline. I printed the whole lot out (yes, I know, lots of paper) and put it in a ring binder, and I've been adding my own interpretations to it. Every year or so, I go and do all the exercises again, and compare them with the previous times I've done them. It's amazing how your insights develop.
I also do the exercises if I get a new deck - helps me connect with it!
