The admins cannot possibly catch every post that may be a violation of the One Rule, that's why there is a little button at the bottom of each and every post that's for others to [report] a post if they think it violates the rule of Respect.

I didn't see anything wrong with saying that the world would be a better place if Person X were to die, it's not like saying you want to kill the person yourself or you are actually advocating violence against another person. But if you want to click on that [report] button, the admins can let you know whether or not they agree with you.

I think it's rather interesting that you browsed around until you found a 3-month old post to complain about.

I'm certainly not going to get in the midst of an on-going internet fued. If you're not sure how the Rule of respect works, send a PM to one of the admins, or look at the FAQ. If you think a post has failed to meet that Rule of respect, then click on the [report] button.

If you want to start a whole new thread to discuss in general terms whether it's respectful or tolerant for a person to say the world would be a better place if Person X were to die, then go ahead - that might actually be an interesting and challenging discussion.

But the way I read the post before it was deleted, the OP was not "hoping" for anybody to die, so let's make sure that discussion would be about a hypothetical topic, 'k?

Sorry, you opened the discussion, I figured you were going to actually discuss it.

I'm always amazed at how people interpret the "tone" of words written in a forum like this. Heck, I'm a psychic and an empath and I don't always know what tone is behind the posts I read here. Perhaps you're feeling a little defensive because you think we're more likely to defend someone who has been a member here for quite a while over someone who just joined. It's fair enough to ask that defamatory posts be deleted, but when you only post a single retort and don't care to actually discuss the issues you've raised then I cry foul. I don't believe I've posted anything to defend anybody in this thread. I appreciated your explanation of what your initial complaint was about. This issue was apparently discussed by others here several months ago. If I even read about it in another thread I had forgotten.

Perhaps you have posted on other threads and are genuinely interested in becoming a member of this forum and not just bringing your battle to our turf, I wouldn't know because I haven't looked to see where all you have posted. This thread simply caught my eye when I clicked on the [new posts] button as I generally do when I log in here.

You've had your last comment. Fair enough. I've had mine. I don't see anything interesting in this particular train wreck, so I'll move along now.
