View Full Version : What if we populated the moon?!

That would make the center of people's charts the Moon, and Earth would become a planet! I wonder which sign it would rule. That is so weird.
This notion also makes me deathly afraid of Aliens. They're souls would be completely different and beyond our comprehension!
I'm such a lateral thinker. ;)

You ask so many interesting questions though! :D I like people that make me think...
My thoughts though...if these beings lived on the moon, maybe the Earth would be the "moon" for their charts!

Well, there is that one Simpsons film strip about how we should populate the moon by 1964, or somewhere around there. And how the moon men are waiting for us there ("The moon rightfully belongs to the United States"). So we're a little behind at this point.
I'm not really afraid of aliens or anything. I kind of doubt they would have more then an interest in us then we have in say dolphins or something. Or it could be like that other episode of the Simpsons where the aliens come and enslave the Earth using a presidential election. Never trust presidential candidates who are holding hands with their opponents. That's what I always say. Where would we all be without Homer Simpson? :D

there is geocentric astrology wherein we look from the earth at the stars about us and there is heliocentric astrology which is viewed with the Sun in the center, as it exists in the solar system.
In a heliocentric chart, you will see the earth placed in the wheel along with the other planets ;)

I think the Earth would take over the function of the Moon, because the Earth seen from the Moon behaves very much like the Moon seen from the Earth - and the effect on the apparent movement of the other planets would be trivial.
A more interesting question is what about someone born in a space coloney, a spaceship between star systems, on a planet in another star system...?
I suspect that astrology works because our bodies detect minute tidal forces from the planets and use them to set timers for various functions in our bodies. In the absense of planets we would set those timers based on some minute gravitation force in our environment - but, in the case of a spaceship between stars, for example, it would be very hard for an astrologer to figure out what was used for the timing.
BTW, the above theory suggests that helio-centric astrology only works if you live on the sun :bigredgri

Aliens? What aliens? I always thought that the planets (and Moon) were inhabited by the Gods and Goddesses (and perhaps some planets by some less benevolent beings...) Sun God at least lives in the Sun.

And the Earth Mother lives in the Earth... but we're still here... I think :bigredgri
