Hi folks,

I've a question...I'm looking for information on Wishing Moons (some call them List Moons). These moons occur every third full moon and are supposed to be a good time to work magick and wish for things. I read about them in Edain McCoy's Lady of the Night : A Handbook of Moon Magick & Rituals.

Now just today, I read that every third full moon is also considered a Blue Moon too, and found that interesting.

Do any of you celebrate the Wishing Moons, or have more information on them?

Bright Blessings,

Susan

Actually blue moons are the second full moon in one month if there is one, from what I've learned.

I've never heard of wishing moons tho...

I didn't have time to search in depth earlier, but I just found the following link about Blue Moons:

http://www.obliquity.com/astro/blue-st.html

Its really interesting. They talk about the different definitions of Blue Moon....whether a blue moon is the second full moon in a month or the third full moon in every 4.

Bright Blessings,

Susan

Interesting historical bit even tho I still believe what I believe.

What do you suppose the point was in noting the third full moon in a season?

Your definition of Blue Moon is the one I knew as well...I was very surprised to see every third full moon defined as a Blue Moon. I was originally searching to see if every third full moon was called something other than a Wishing or List Moon.

Blessings,

Susan
