Hi all! :D
Im new, but I heard about this somewhere today. An alignment of the Sun, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune? It might be a stupid question, but then im a stupid person who would like to know more about astronomy (predominantly planetary positions)but doesnt have the resources to know where everything is and exactly when.

Hello MoonCookie and Welcome!

The planets mentioned are in aspect on Jan 23rd as
Sun sextile Mars, trine Saturn and conjunct Neptune
Mercury conjunct Neptune and trine Mars
Saturn trine Neptune

What is notable about the skies at this time is the Aquarian conjunctions of Sun, Venus, Neptune, Mercury and Uranus.
Saturn is in Gemini, 4 signs away from the stellium.

Thank you, that has cleared up my confusion muchly! Any advice for what an Aries like myself should do tonite regarding spells or magik (ie. aid in finding a job, realizing career potential)? Or is this a question for the Magik and Rituals forum? Once again, thank you. :D

YW!
Certainly check out the Magick and Rituals Forum and see what knowledge is there.

Astrologically look to your 10th house as it rules career, public identity and acclaim, authority figures, honors, role in society.
The planetary ruler of the tenth house is Saturn and therefore the sign of Capricorn.

Find what sign rules your 10th house, where Saturn and Capricorn are in your natal chart.
Meditate on a 10th house question like "What attributes do I need to develop in order to own my own authority, as well as project my best self in my personal role in society?"

A good time for spellwork is when the New Moon is in Capricorn or falls in your 10th. Effective 10th house workings are rituals for: mastery, self-discipline, actualization, career acclaim.

Anyone wouldnt happen to know any downloadable free programs that would help me determine my natal chart, and planetary postions since 1983 and continuing till 2010? I heard about one or two such programs, i have looked around but havent found anything yet. Im astrologically challanged, and a program would really help. :)

Hi MoonCookie,

Check out astro.com It's a great site for beginners as well as the more advanced astrologer. You can enter your birth data on the site and it will remember (time and place included) the next time you sign in, and gives you lots of free readings based on your complete data. I use it as my home page. You can even enter friends and family and produce compatibility reports(and it remebers their data too). AstroTravel is fun too! And fascinating if you move around alot. Check out some of the places you have lived before and you will be amazed at how accurate it is. This site is much better than the strictly sun sign based horoscope sites. Both Liz Greene and Robert Hand are 2 very well respected astrologers in the astrological community.
It doesnt do the historical thing tho, I have another program for that, so I haven't tried to find any downloadable programs but i'm sure if you do a search you should find some.

Enjoy
