Hi

I have a dear friend who is now in her menopausal years and has been having some problems, including the usual hot flashes. More serious is the problem of some degree (not yet a lot) of bone tissue loss in her spine.

Her name is Corrine Lou, and she lives in southeastern British Columbia, in western Canada. She's taking a large calcium supplement, a larege vitamin D supplement, and her current doctor also has her convinced to take one of the common anti-bone-loss pharmaceutical drugs.

With direct hands-on (or "hands-near") Reiki, she goes into a hot flash, and therefore finds it uncomfortable. I've been sending her distance Reiki, and she seems to tolerate that okay. I believe it would help if others sent her healing energy, too.:hugz:

Thanks.

I am sorry about your friend. I hope she allowed u to give out her personal info (ie: full name)
I know several people going into menopause including some friends in their early30's who have had histerectomies.
I hear some foods can lessen the effects of this

Thanks, MysticWitch... She's cool about the use of her name. And she seems to be quite aware of options involving diet and mineral/vitamin supplements.

I'm surprised more people - women in particular - have not expressed themselves on this thread. She really could use the healing energy.

Hi, I'm just now seeing this. I haven't ever been tested for bone loss, but I'm definately menopausal. I've been taking black cohosh root for my hot flashes for several years, tapering off during colder weather and using it regularly during hot weather. It has helped me some, not taken them away, but made them much milder. I don't know whether they would be contra-indicated with the other things she is taking though. I understand that regular exercise is the best preventative for bone loss. I should do more myself.

It might be interesting to try giving her hand-on (or near) Reiki while she was immersed in an unheated swimming pool. ;) Anyway, I'm glad to send a bit of Reiki for a fellow Crone.
