Hi everyone!
This is the official sign-up thread for the Spring Banner Making class. Please post here if you are interested in the class. I know there aren’t that many of you who have shown interest. However, I have decided to run the class anyway and just keep it cozy.
I hope you’re all enjoying the Spring season! It’s been lovely here in Indy. :sunny:
This class will be based on Adobe Photoshop 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS2. If you do not have the software you may download the free trial from the Adobe website. Do NOT download the free trial until I have posted the first lesson. I want you all to get as much out of this class as you can.
The class will begin on the week of May 1st... Pay attention for the first lesson. Latecomers are welcome. However I will stop accepting new students by the middle of May. The class will run for 30 days. This will give everyone enough time to complete the course and graduate.
As for me, I do not know everything about the software. I don’t think it’s possible. As many of you may already know, Photoshop is very versatile. There are loads of things you can do with it. And be forewarned, it can get quite addicting!
So this will be a learning environment for us all. Everyone here is welcome to participate not only in learning but teaching as well. I’m sure there will be things that you guys can teach me once you start getting familiar with the software.
I will be using a Springy theme for the class... but of course you’re all welcome to use your own graphics. Hope to see a lot of students this time around!
Blessings,
SkySilver

How easy is photoshop to use? I'm interested in the class, but computer stuff generally goes right over my head.

Well, it'd be hard if you just downloaded the software and tried to figure it all out by yourself. With my class, however, you'll be better equiped to understand the basics. Once you understand the basics, everything else will be easier. If you're patient and open to it, you'll do just fine! :)

I have Photoshop limited edition - will this be good enough? I also have Macromedia Fireworks which is similar, and Macromedia and Adobe actually merged companies so Fireworks and Photoshop are being integrated into one. Will Fireworks work ok or should I just stick to the Photoshop limited edition I have here - it still does quite a bit of stuff.

I don't know what photoshop limited edition is. Does it have photoshop 7 or cs2? All I know is that you're going to need one of those. I don't know anything about Fireworks, sorry. If anything, you could always download the free trial. :)

For those of you who haven't finished the class, it's still not too late. Unless of course you have a free trial that is ending or has ended. If not, you have plenty of time to complete the course.
I'm not planning on starting another class for a while so these threads won't be archived until then.
