No pills are needed for me to fight stress. I try to relax, not work so hard, find something interesting to watch on TV or read - spend time with my daughter and hubby.

I fight Stress with the Lighting of Candles, the Burning of Incense, the Smoking of some Cannabis, and the Drinking of my Homemade Apple Cider.
There is also the Personal Grounding of Personal Emotional Energies Ritual that you should check out.
Have you ever heard of the Clearing and Releasing Ritual? That is what I do.

I talk with my loved ones about trivial and unimportant things, I take long walks, I read a good book and drink tea in candle light while burning calming insence, I smoke(BAD one...), I listen to calming music, I take a warm shower...
If all else fails I'll just go out and dance and/or have fun with my friends. Maybe have a beer or two.

Booze! j/k  Seriously, I don't like pills so I wouldn't take them; that's just masking the issue, IMO.
Actually I find reading very de-stressing if I can focus; if not, then I do menial things like cleaning; doing dishes works for me too. Sometimes I'll light some candles and sit on my sunporch and just sit there and feel the stress run out. Meditation is hard for me to begin with so I have a hard time doing it when I'm stressed out. Walking and/or playing with my dog helps too sometimes and he's definitely not opposed to the extra attention.
