I tend to get bladder infections very easily anyway, but this is getting ridiculous. I'm now on I think UTI #3 since the beginning of the year. I hate this!!! The infection itself is bad enough, but the medicine to relieve the pain upsets my stomach. My day off, gorgeous weather, and I feel like crap. I don't need a lot of help, but a little boost of healing energy sent my way would sure be appreciated.
Thanks so much!

Just came from the doctor. She was concerned, because there's very few white blood cells showing up. Which means that whatever is causing the infections, my immune system isn't doing a whole lot to fight it off. Why, we don't know. Hopefully we'll know more when the results of the culture come back next week.

I'm glad you're following up with your Doc. I've suffered from UTI's most of my life, and recently had a kidney issue resulting from it. Energies sent..be sure to keep on top of it! _tomatoe_

Hope they find the cause. There are so many. I know one gal that has had several, she wears thongs, and usually they are nylon, don't know if they breathe enough and absorbe enough. Another cause is improper wiping, women have a small urethra, so if they wipe front to back that is a good thing, but wiping back to front puts that good old E.Coli where it can cause infections. Another cause is intercourse. Because there again it is possible for the penis to slide accross the peritoneum and expose the bacteria where we don't want it. So emptying the bladder after intercourse does help (I always have to do that anyway. lol). Also the craberry juice keeps the urine acidic, and the bacteria doesn't like that, so while it can't cure UTI's it can help prevent them. Of course there are other causes, but these are some that many are not aware of, so thought I would mention them.
It is very important to find out the cause and get it under control as soon as possible for anyone, because untreated they can asscend up the ureters and into the kidneys and cause infections there.
Good luck to you in finding out what is up, with the UTI's and the immune system. Hope everything gets under control

Honey Im sorry your feeling bad. Im sending you relief energy :hugz: I dont know how relevant this is to your situation but I have a friend who if she doesnt go pee right after sex automatically gets a bladder infection. I have no idea why or how the two are connected. But thats what I have for ya. And drink drink drink it will help keep your system flushed out (but I suspect at this point you know that).

I've been dealing with this since I was a teenager, so I'm well versed in all the preventative and treatment measures, LOL!! I don't have cranberry juice in the house right now, but have been drinking other citrus juices and also taking the chewable vitamin C. I haven't had sex in months, so that's not doing it. I'm just one of those women that due to my own biology, I'm more susceptible. And I've had them go up into my kidneys....that TOTALLY sucked!!
The main problem I'm having right now is that for some reason, my immune system isn't kicking in to fight this infection. I'm wondering if it's something else besides E Coli, since I've never had this happen before. I don't think it's my immune system in general, as it's been working well otherwise. Johanna's had strep twice, and all kinds of colds and other stuff but I didn't catch any of it. For some strange reason, it's just this particular bug it's not reacting to.
Thanks for all the good wishes, everybody!

That's really interesting. I also know from my medical class "disease of the human body" Different strep bacteria cause many different UTI infections in men and women.
At least with the culture, it will give the doc an idea of how to treat it. Our immune systems can be our best friend or worst enemy. Keep us posted, I always enjoy learning new information.
