I know Practical Magic was not the best representation of the Craft, but it did inspire me just a little. For one thing, it inspired me to finally let my hair grow. But the scene where there was blood on the moon...have any of you ever seen that? I saw blood on the moon once, and the next day I read in the paper that a someone was stabbed to death a few blocks from my house. OOOHH! By the way, as is usually the case, the book was better.

I've been meaning to see that movie for a long time. Just haven't gotten around to it.

Hmm...I saw that movie. I don't remember the blood on the moon scene...I watched it so long ago though. But..do you mean a red moon?
I saw a red moon once. That was really cool.

I don't remember that scene either. The movie was so funny, especially the aunts.
I have seen a red moon.

but only 2 lunar eclipses(AWESOME) they were total, and 2 partial
solar eclipses.

I also own it. I've watched it a million times. I've been wondering about that blood on the moon part they mention. I've never heard the term. I will have to look into it. That movie is great though :)

Blood on the moon, the way I saw it a few months ago, and the way it was in the movie, is a reddish ring around the moon, especially on an overcast night.

Now that you say that it comes back to me. Anyway... I loved the movie. Very cute. And like WildChild, "especially the aunts!"

I definitely agree with that!!! The book was FAR, FAR better. I have never been blessed to see a blood moon, though I live in New York, so the visibility is....er... not so good. But I am still young! :D And like many of the people that posted.. the Aunts make the Whole MOVIE!!! But Stockard Channing and Diane Wiest could do a yogurt commercial and it would be fabulous!!!

they had true respect for the Craft and the powers they had the ability to harness, whereas Jillie and Sallie were novices with no real understanding or respect. (Again, the book was slightly different) But the bond between Jillie and Sallie was so strong, it was beautiful. And don't get me started on Jimmie Angelov... YUMMY

I missed that part you said about the book. I"ll have to look for it. Do you have the author?

Practical Magic was written by Alice Hoffman. I must warn you though.. the movie is NOTHING like the book... there are so many other riveting scenes in the book.
