I have noticed that most of you have little pictures under your name. How do you do that?
Is that okay for a newbie to do?

You can have a picture next to your name in a post by going to "profile" and then to "edit options".

go for it!
the pictures are called avatars, and they're at the very bottom of the edit options page. if you don't feel that any of those reflect you, any picture that you can get into your computer (via net, scanning, whatever) will work if you go to browse. don't forget, you can shrink them to fit!

btw, after 10 posts you're no longer an official neophyte. you get a new category under edit profile.
