Ahem.. I Mystic am addicted to food. :collapse:
I have been addicted to food since I was 9 years old.
I have been a binger...
I have been a faster...
I have been a fat lady...
I have been a skiny lady...
As I sit here typing this thread, all I want is the box of _cookie_ 's that taunts me.
I am not even hungry. I just want to eat. :foh: For the sake of
eating. When my tummy doesn't feel full to the max, it
doesn't feel right.
This thread is not a sudden need for energy, but if anyone can zap something into me, for me to find the mental power to fight this addiction, I would be your slave!!!!! :D
I can't live like this forever! I am not fat but I fear some day I will die from obesity. :wah:

Do you know why you are eating a lot? Maybe you are substituting something with food to feel complete.

Oh sweetheart :hugz: You are such a beautiful woman. You need to have faith in yourself. Think of the fear as having red horns and mean long nasty tail (sorry for the visual if anyone is offended) make it as mean and nasty and scarry as possible. Whatever the scarriest creature you can think of is. This you will want to stay away from instead of holding it close like we do the fear. The fear is what makes us eat not the hunger. Push the fear away and hold it arms bay. You can do this. You are a strong amazing woman. Everyone here believes in you. YOU have to believe in YOU. I love you honey and Im always here for you. :hugz:

Your body is your beautiful temple!!!!!! And you can only inhabit it this one time so take good care of it!!... Yes eat an oreo if you like because you love the taste but stop and then eat an apple for balance because you love your temple and want to take care of it.
I'm not perfect either ... like you ... I LOVEEEE to eat .. but I also realize I have one life and to live as an example to my kids as well so i balance myself with the good and bad.I park far from store to walk a little extra for activeness as well. Things like this is what I mean as an example to do for yourself.
ps.. as im typing im drinking a hot chocolate lol.. but i promised myself to drink water after.
So get up after reading this.. do something active or reach for a healthy alternative.,, why???? because YOU LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all! Such sweet people you can find here at MW. Wow. Oh boy. Okay.. so today is day 3 for self control. Last night wasn't very good. I did well up until 10 pm. Then I had 3 pancakes with maple syrup and cinnimon and then 10 min later I had a bowl of spagetti with meat sauce and evey veggie tossed in. :wah: I woke up feeling sick because I went straight to bed after the pasta meal. I promise to do better and try to cut out late night munchies. :fpcsucks

wow!! okay the spagetti makes sense to have for dinner, having veggies in it was wonderful! ... and the pancakes for breakie (next time make them silver dollars or just one big one, substitute honey for syrup and add a fruit)
from now on... no more eating carbs after 8 or 9pm!!! That will add the pounds believe it or not.
feel free to pm me with anything .. good luck.. you can do it!! and dont punish yourself for anything at all because you are a TEMPLE!!:cheers:

Darling M'Witch. I am a compulsive over eater. I hate it. I have to work it out a day at a time with my eating. Somedays I succeed, others days I might not do so good. I totally understand what you are going through. I am very FAT! I need to loose. So I am working on it as I said....One day at a time. That is all you can do. I am available to vent to if you need it. OK hun.

You know Minerva just gave me a thought. And Im sure this is where she was going...But make each meal a special ritual. Each bite taking the time to savor and enjoy it. It will cause you to eat slower and relish what wonderful food the Goddess has given you.
Another thing I do is on the nights when I have a perfect day I allow myself a safe desert. Normally it is a WW desert but they are sooo yummy I dont feel like I am not getting the sweets. It helps with the self control for the day cause I really want it, and then while Im eating it I kinda pat myself on the back for doing what I needed to do for the day. :hugz: hope those help.

I am pretty guilty of being a food-addict as well. 'Cept mine runs to the sugary candy variety.
Fortunately for me... I have speedy metabolism (or whatever) that keeps me skinny. (So far)
What works? Not having the stuff in the house to tempt me. (Yeah... I know. That's not a lot of help.)

:wave: Im okay. I havent been eating the best but im taking it one day at a time. I love my sweets. I polished a box of 5 rice crispy squares made with caramel and chocolate. :wah:
But they were good :mmm:
I think Im a fast eater. Im always last at the table though, even when eating the same portions as everyone else. Dunno :foh:

Ick! yes sweets are evil lol... thats me and my kids' word when something is soooo tasty... its EVIL!! lol
in fact .. those squares sound delish!!.. next time try only half that amount then drink lots of water to quench the rest of the hunger.YOU CAN DO IT!!! :boing:

Honey we all have ups and downs. I have had a lack of will power kinda week too. I dont think Im going to make it to my goal this week. But when monday comes I will pick it back up and reaffirm my goals. :hugz: You can do it too honey. You are a beautiful kind woman. I have faith in you.

i have real serious issues with food, i eat when i'm sad, stressed, nervous, any negative emotion. i know i do it but that doesn't stop me. so i know how you feel. i even know how i got this way and still can't seem to control it. i do know that when i am doing well mentally food is just not an issue so maybe if you go at this from that angle, like improve the things in your life that are getting to you that might help. good luck. :hugz:

i have that EXACT same issue.. i use food to console myself. In fact, I had a horrible day today that left me balling my eyes out on the floor ( my second time already in one month after not crying months!) so i went and got a some wine and chocolates! The thing is .. im only limiting myself to one glass and the chocolate is pure dark chocolate (less sugar) .. also i remembered you at the store and brought the smaller bar.
