Greetings All,
MOL,I finally had time to come here and check out the community. I think you've made a wonderful place. My name's Lorelei. I live in Maine,am 45 years old and have been a witch all my life.I remember casting spells as young as the age of 3 and knowing the future about the same age. There is one thing about me everyone should know,I am not a pagan,I'm a Christian witch.Yes,a Christian Witch. I'm also an ordained minister. Please don't blame me for what the unenlightened do in God's name these days, nor for what happened centuries ago.Few of know which side of the burning we stood on then. What matters is the present and the future.
Blessed be!

Apologize not! Explain not. Recoil not. Expect you to smile?, yes, and with passion.
BlueCat, Top off that lemonade and puff the comfy chair. Let us make all who come here welcome. The path matters NOT. Religion is in the head, Sprituality is of the HEART.
Gunner? More ice please.
Blessed are those with an open heart.

Most Welcome, Dear Woman!
Have a seat in a comfy chair and a glass of Lemonade.
I am not at all opposed to Christian Witches, I believe it to be a part of the inevitable mixture that makes up our lives and our society. There were Christian Witches in my family, I just chose not to follow that particular path. :)
 Bless You And All That You Are!

Merry meet and welcome!
Your path is your own and I can't see how anyone can blame you for all of Christianity's wrongdoings. We probably need you around to give us a new viewpoint. Hope you have a good time here! :sunny:

Blame me? No,but expect me to explain and apologize?Expect me to smile when they lump "Christian" with "fundamentalists"and say we're all the same?Recoil in horror when I point out they may not be 100% correct in their presumptions?Forget that in a previous incarnation they may have been a burner not a burnee?Cut me off when I attempt to start a conversation about the new wave of believers who are as accepting of Pagans as they claim to be of Christians?Fall back on the "I've had bad experiences with Christians so forgive me but I won't change my mind"?
LOL! just being honest.I've had my own "bad experiences" with Pagans and a lot seem to be as down on Christians as they believe we all are of them.
But I admit that the unseen reason I was invited to join this community may very well be as that of source and educator. If that be so,then I am, as always, prepared to be guided so that enlightenment may come to all of us.
As a final word,I'll add this: God does not care what you do,nor how,nor why.All is good is God's eyes.
Blessed be!

I can Blessed Be that sister! :D
As a recovering Catholic of a liberal church, I can't understand those Pagans who jump on every Christian. I know alot have had bad experiences with some but we must take the high road and be just as accepting of them to manifest the acceptance we deserve and anyone of a minority does.
Love thy enemy, it really confuses them. :)

Greetings All!
As I admitted in a private post I recently resigned from two lists I had belonged to for nearly a year because of the way I was treated when I said not all Christians are closed minded or fundlementalists afraid of Pagans.
I admit I came on a bit strong here, but all I want is a place where I can learn and perhaps teach, not argue with anyone.
On the other hand,I learned a lesson, sometimes the high road just puts you up where there isn't enough o2 to sustain life. LOL Jesus may have "turned the other cheek";I don't aspire to be him.A friend says I sometimes show more of a shamanistic/warrior face than a Christian/witch.
In any event,I'm glad to be here and I'm enjoying reading threads and meeting people.

As I stated before, Religion is in the head and Spirituality is of the heart. Here, your path matters not and all are welcome - I'm sure the rest would agree with me on this point. Live, Share and Learn. That is the basis of life and love. Without those three (and 3 is a magickal number and the essence of life), we would be nothing.
You are welcome at our hearth any time.

It is a fairly modern dialect of Native American. For the most part, it is the beginning of a Crow/Sioux prayer.
Hoka-hey heya wakan kolaya.
Nomahon yelo lila wakan.
Greetings to the friends of spirit
Hear me, most sacred.
I'll jot the rest down later. It's rather taxing but I have it written in my Book of Shadows somewhere.

My Spiritual Father (mentor/teacher) was 98% Wiccan and 2% Shaman. These are words that he taught me and used in his rituals. He stated that the language was eclectic Shaman so, it very well could include the Lakotah tongue.
He passed in September of last year but his words still ring in my ears and are spoken by the Mother.
I, for one, hold a stronger percentage in Shamanism.

I don't hold the copywright on it. Don't really think anyone does. That prayer, to my knowledge, has been around for centuries - less a few minor adjustments here and there.

Lorelei,
I'm a Catholic here in this community. Many pagans I have spoken to recoil at my proclaimed faith and will have nothing to do with me. On the other end of the boat, many Christians have done the same to me not even knowing what my faith is. The fact that I have a strong connection with the Earth and her plants and animals has had many Christians proclaiming that if I do not cease my "witchcraft" I will go to hell. I have never even practiced any form of the craft.
Anyways... WELCOME friend!!! This family here is awesome and full of :heartthro! Even I feel comfortable here. :D
God bless!

Pagan or, no, all are welcome here. If anyone gives you a hard time about being Christian, let me know and I'll whoop some "virtual" butt. I'm a black-belt in Virtual Karate.
This is a community and with it come all of the benefits thereof. Christian, Pagan, Muslim - it matters not your path. Religion is in the head, Spirituality is of the heart.

i don't see a problem or contradiction in you being "christian witches", that's actually a fairly old and common path, e.g. the latino "brujos/brujas" most of whom are firm catholics and witches too as are the "curanderos", the healers. nor are all christians as narrow minded as the "fundamentalists", i've got a good christian friend online who happily accepts my "blessed be" knowing it's "our" blessing, taking it in the spirit offered. welcome aboard.
they've made me welcome and i'm sure there are one or two that might philosophically disagree with my life's way but if so they've never been less than most courteous.

I too have a couple of friend - Catholic and Presbytarian - that have no problem with my path.
However, this is NOT something I would share with my Mother as she is a hard core Souther Baptist and I would be immediatelly disowned. Besides, she doesn't need that on her shoulders.

Thank you all for the welcomes!!
As for the "broom closet",I'm only in it where it concerns my parents, even though my mother indirectly put me on the path. My niece{Shannon} belongs to a coven a couple hours from here. Mom became concerned when she saw Shannon sporting a pentacle and saying prayers for one of our ancestors. Mom expressed these concerns to me.I assured her it was nothing to worry about, but decided to read up to see what witches do in covens these days. I don't remember the first book, but the second was by Scott Cunningham. Before I was half way through it,I knew this was what I'd been searching for,the missing piece of the puzzle. Why I had grown up doing and knowing things my friends didn't,why my gram and mom cooked the way they did, always did things other moms didn't do.If that hadn't been enough, when I went to sleep the night I realized I was a witch,I had beautiful dreams of generations of ancestors welcoming me home, cheering and dancing for the one who had been lost.

I may have misinterpreted earlier. I don't think I fully understood your path. Not that that would mater anyway.
It's funny how those we teach can often become the teacher. That is something my Spiritual Father taught me long ago - that you could one day find yourself teahing the teacher and could mis out on the lesson. It is best, often, to humble ourselves.
I am glad that you found us. I am even hapier to find you giving of yourself.
Humbly yours in spirit and of heart,
Thoma

I agree whole-heartedly. This was an attempt at an apology for a previous post. I am a humble man but can stand my ground when needed. Sometimes, however, identifying "when needed" is difficult to identify.

Not to worry! MY "path" is more eclectic than some. Most maybe.I like to think I took the heart the lessons of childhood,"Be inclusive, not exclusive."
It may not sound it,but I am focused on what I consider my faith and beliefs-- it's merely difficult to explain or pin me down.
Guess it's a little of the "gemini" influence LOL
