- Assignment # 1

Okay. For your first assignment you are going to do something easy. You are going to experiment with your first webpage. So what you are going to do is take what you learned in lesson 1 and write four sentences about your favorite book. It can be fiction, nonfiction, or whatever. I don't care. You will put this in between the body tags. At the end of your sentences make sure you do something like this: - Silver Melusine, so I know who it is.

You have three days to complete this assignment, but i'm sure all you smart people will not need that long. If you are confused, try the assignment first, then pm me or email me at silver_melusine@yahoo.com.

Make sure when you post your assignment you tell me what account you intend to use. Whether it be the class account or your own. Also make sure you save your document as bl1.html. Thanks.

ok question time...

When you say body tags do you mean this..<body>our writting in here</body>

And does our assignment have to go up on our webpage???

Well, there's mine. That's my main geocities account, I'll be throwing everything up there. I suppoise id' be useful to use that index page as a link to every page we make in this course, aye? Might be useful. I like doing tables of contents. *nods* Perhaps a little too much. XD Eh. Whatever. I'll figure something out.

I just changed the numbers from 1 to 2 so that the text would'nt be too big.

Here ya go! At first i couldn't get anything to show up when i tried to view the uploaded file. I peeked at your source code and found that a bit of misplaced code was fouling me up! I had it all typed out correctly, but my </head> was in the wrong place. Funny how something that seems so minute can matter so much!

I see your title. However you cannot put tags in the title. Just put the name. Ex: <title>AmaKalian's Favorite Book</title>. Don't include <b></b> because it doesn't work. I only used <b></b> as an example in the lesson. Those type of tags belong in the body. Do you understand now? Everything looks good though. Great job!

You can go back and edit it. Go to your account and there should be a check box beside the file that you can check then you can press a button that says edit. Good job though. Really proud of everyone so far!
