I have been suffering from migraine headaches the past few days.. I dont know if part of it is from allergy's or just normal pregnancy hormones.. I'm so afraid to take anything, even tylenol.. I know it's safe, im just trying to be cautious.(maybe too cautious). Luckily im going to the doctors friday and will discuss it will my doctor then.. I just feel horrible.. plus nausea here and there.. blah!

Lay down for awhile with a cool washcloth over your forehead and eyes. It may not totally alleviate the symptoms, but it should make you feel a bit better.
It could be either thing... depends on you, really. :p

I too had migraines during pregnancy. My doctor told me to up the caffine believe it or not! They will prescribe Midrin if they persist! It is very safe during pregnancy! Hope it helps!

I am on fioricet for mine. I prefer to try what Kalika suggested first then use my meds as the option of last resort :)

Sweetie if what Kalika suggests doesn't work..you can try Tylenol. I know your being cautious.....but each pregnancy is different. Its better to take care of yourself then suffer. Good Luck..they suck!!

Make sure you aren't getting dehydrated. Make sure you aren't letting your blood sugar get too low. Even if you just drink some juice every couple of hours or so.
Ice on the forehead, heat on the neck. Then switch, so I am told. I think you can safely use a heating pad for about 20 minutes. They make special face cooling masks for about $3to $5, those help and you don't have to worry about ice on your face. You can lay down and they don't move. Only drawback they don't go in the freezer, at least mine doesn't.
Ask about feverfew. I have no idea if you can take that while you're pregnant, but it is the only otc that works fairly well that doesn't have aspirin. Ask if you can take seudofed or suedofed PE (OK I spelled it 2 different ways and they both look wrong, I must be tired)
Ask if you can take Excedrin Migraine when they get really bad. Get the generic.
Be sure and really make you doctor know that this is interfering in your life. Sometimes doc's don't take migraines seriously. Good luck _pounce_

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'll look at that site yvonne! :) I have my lavendar pillow that i just found. it's helped in the past. I'll give the facecloth and icepack thing a try too. I have cut back or stopped drinking soda, and coffee, and i think thats also the problem, plus we ran out of water..we ran out of everything!! just went shopping,so im going to drink a bottle now. I had a headache last night, took 2 tylenol, wentt o sleep and it went away..had a slight one this morning ,it got worse towards the late afternoon..I took 2 more tylenol with water(yucky tap water!! ACK)..went to a meditation class with skysilver! :D ,headache came back, then once we relaxed it went away until we left, then i took 2 more tylenol at walmart with soda and it went away and it's back again! :( My nausea is starting to kick in too, which could be from the headaches..
I am definitely talking to my doctor about it on friday though!

If you are having weahter like we are having in Michigan, there isn't much you can do. We keep getting rain bands coming through from the low that is now on the east coast. It has been a rough week or so for me and my best friend. She was so bad yesterday she called in sick to work. We set a record low for Michigan in May about an hour's drive from me, so I know it has been bad for any one who gets headaches associated with weather changes.

well,i noticed this afternoon,it was nice out,and i had a headache. it started to get stormy,so i brought hannah in and just sat in the livingroom with the porch door open. could feel the breeze. I know it has alot to do with pollen also..

Luckily today I havent had ANY headaches! It's been a good day! other than the bad rain storm we had earlier.. I cant wait for sunshine, and neither can Hannah! poor girls had to play inside all week. My husbands off tomorrow,so im hoping to talk him into taking her to the park if it's nice,or even mcdonalds,so she can burn off some pent up energy. :) I've had some nausea, but it hasnt gotten extremely bad. Im also lactose intolerant,so I havent been able to drink/eat any dairy products without suffering. With hannah and Olivia during the pregnany,i had no problem, but this time It still affects me. Hopefully come 2nd trimester when the calcium needs increase,it will be better. :) I am happy to not have any headaches though! :D

allergies and change of weather does trigger those nasty things. When I was pregnant the only thing the doc would let me take was tylenol. Dehydration is also a trigger, and yes hormones can trigger as well.
I still use the laydown with ice packs on the back of my neck and where my head hurts, along with a quiet dark room. Ice is the only thing that gives me some help when all else fails.
I am glad you will see your doctor. He will know the best thing to suggest and he will know your body best. Best of luck. Been there done that ...no fun

My headaches are back..UGH.. Their not as bad though. I really think it has to do with the weather/pollen/my allergies.. I took hannah swimming today, and after dinner,im going to relax for awhile.maybe even take a short nap. My nausea has come back. I notice i get it in the morning when i wake, and towrds the afternoon.. fun fun :D

You would have to ask your doctor if you could use them, but "flonase" helps me if I use it at night or in the morning. Seems to get rid of all the gunk and then I don't get the sinus headache after that.
Also something I have used because smells bother me is the "Vicks" fine mist nose spray. Again ask your doc. It really helped with odors and I wonder if it would help with pollen as well. If it is OK with your doctor to try, then it is worth trying.
I still go with ice on the back of the neck, or where ever the pain is. It is temporary pain reliever, but it may get you through the day, or give you some comfort.
My headaches have been better, the weather has calmed down here, so that makes a big difference.
good luck!

I'm doing ok today,no headaches..but plenty of nausea and morning sickness.. I've made sure to drink plenty of water, and eat small frequent meals.. even coughing and sneezing brings on my gagging(dry heaving).. I think i also have extra saliva, which i know is normal in pregnancy..which doesnt help.. I'm happy to be pregnant though, and I know things will be fine! :)
