View Full Version : Scary Room...

Ok, my dad's house, which has tall ceilings and lots of windows and is very bright and cheery in the daytime...is very creepy at night. I think it to be the amount of empty space created from the high ceilings...

The worst room in this weird house is my brother's old room. He doesn't come over here anymore, so his room is very empty. There really isn't anything personal, just some old stuff he hasn't touched in awhile.

We (my brothers, friends, and I) don't know why it's so freaky. Just last night I had a friend over, and we were going to sleep in there, because my brothers' old bunk beds are in there...but after lying down and settling in, we got so weirded out we had to leave and go sleep on the hide-a-bed in the living room. We moved back in there in the morning because my dad and stepmom were making lots of noise (honestly, how many dishes can there POSSIBLY be to wash at 8 in the morning?) and it was perfectly fine. Something about that room is just freaky as hell(heh) at night... I would say perhaps it's a mean spirit...but there's really no reason for there to be one. It's a new house, only one family lived here before us...and none of them died or anything (that we know of).

Anywho, besides the near constant creepy feeling in that room, and the feeling of something looming over you all the time, my brothers used to have frequent sleepless nights, and when they did sleep, they'd often have nightmares.

Altogether, it's a scary room, and we dunno why, which also makes it mysterious...

So I say Hmm...I was thinking about sleeping in there tonight...just to test it out. Never been able to bring myself to do it...

You might want to try cleansing the room by burning sage in there. Just to see what happens. Just bc only one other family lived in that house it doesn't mean that no one ever died on that land.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking...about someone dying on the land, that is....

And I decided not to sleep in it tonight...just couldn't bring myself to do it...again...

Just so you know spirits go where they want all the time - they don't have to die in that house or anything, if they wander through and like it there they stay.

And the room probably could use a good cleansing with sage or whatever seems appropriate.

It might not be any spirit at all - just nasty energy that has curled up and built up there.

that book House of Leaves...creepy! When I go home (Pennsylvania) to visit family, my great Aunt always says I'm welcome to stay with her, but someone has died in every bed in her house, and I just can't sleep there.

Burning some sage in that room sounds like a good idea. If you can, do the whole house too. That might be a bit harder if your dad & stepmom aren't agreeable to things like that.

I have heard of creatures callled "House Gnomes" They are an astral or physical being that lives in your house and pretty much judges on whether or not you will have good fortune. Keep your house clean and tidy and they will like you. Keep it dirty and they become upset. Not just physically dirty but astrally as well. YOu see these beings walk between both planes and the places they inhabit they want to be clean. So it may not be a bad idea to burn some sage. Maybe leave a little bit of bread for them:)

But then again they are just a myth, but who's to say they don't exist?

I had a similar experience in an optometrist office I used to work in. The back half of the office was really creepy in the evenings, (I closed regularly), but fine during the day. One weekend, something really odd happened, and the person who opened returned on monday to find glasses arranged in a line a long the wall, and the radio turned up full blast. No one but ourselves, and the doctor, had keys. No cleaning people came in either, and I know I didn't move the frames. They were all in place when I left.
It was spooky.
I felt the same things, like something was looming over me...it got worse as time went on.
A co-worker and my boyfriend also felt it. After awhile, none of us wanted to be in the office anymore.
I just asked whatever it was to tone it down or leave. I kept that up for several weeks, and it finally did calmed down.
I suppose you can always trying asking the room some questions, and see what it says. You never know, it may help.

If your parents have a problem with Sage, or incense, you could try cleansing it with Salted Water, or Rose Water, and "Sweeping" the negativity out with a besom, or a broom you haven't used for the "normal" housework. Leave a window open when you do it, and sweep toward the window. If it is negativity just hanging about, you don't want to sweep it into the rest of the house.

Oh, and you could try burning two candles in it (of course, don't leave them unattended, or fall asleep while they're burning), Black for absorption of negativity, White for purification. I've always been told not to burn the black, without a white one burning beside it.

perhaps its the :ghost: of all those smilies you've used here that
are haunting the room? Either that or a cannibalistic 2 headed
mutated ghost of one of the children of the corn!:p :p

That sounds familiar I had a case like that where a house had to be saged. It was because the people living there had played with a spirit board and didn't know what they were doing and a few spirits had got out into the house and were causing trouble.

Needless to say it was a little freaky when I first entered the house.

hehe my room is usually a mess, but I keep it squeeky clean, astrally speaking! It's all nice and clean and decorated. . .as long as you're not looking with your physical eyes! ^_~

I like what everyone in here's been saying. Good suggestions! hehe
