Hello--

I'm hoping some Feri-folk can help me out here. I have been studying Feri for a couple of years from a few different sources. All of the books and web pages eventually get to Dian y Glas. I keep trying to find out more about Dian y Glas, and this is what keeps popping up: Blue God, Melek Taus, Peacock God, Peacock Angel, Lord of the Painted Fan...then it gets to Lucifer, Azazel and El Shaitan. Could someone please explain this to me?? I highly doubt that Feri practitioners worship satan, so I'd really appreciate some info (as I find a lot of the Victor and Cora's teachings really wonderful). A little help please?---shuvanilu

I'm not Feri, but that might have something helpful to you, if you haven't seen it already.

I don't think the lucifer they are refering to is satan. I think its probably this guy. The "light-Bearer". From what I've been told by people that have anything to do with him, hes not a bad guy at all.

The website Morgandria mentioned is always helpful. Dian Y Glas is the youthful god of love, the bliss of youth, wild and free. He is the embodiment of our own divine soul, free from all the inhabitions that we acquire as we get older. He is freedom and bliss in its purest form.

The Peacock God is Dian Y Glas in his mature aspect, the beautiful and proud Malik Taus. Lucifer and El Shaitan are, in my understanding, similar gods from other cultures who emobdy the same kind of ideals.

I reconize some of the names

"Melek Taus, Peacock God, Peacock Angel"

They are from the Yazidi.

Almost certainly this entered in to the feri lore courtesy of Thelema, like very much else in Western occult trad.

Crowley couldn't resist a faith that had, at least to appearances, a version of the Xtian devil as the current head of the angelic pantheon
