Last night, when it finally stopped snowing, the skies cleared up. The moon was full & very bright. Bits of pink was in the sky. I went outside around midnight & did a short moon ritual. The snow looked like it had a billion diamonds imbeded on top. The moon was so bright, it was casting blue shadows on the snow. I thought I would feel cold but I felt really warm.
This morning, the skies are blue & clear. It's cold but crisp. It is so beautiful here, it takes my breathe away. We're going to go for a walk along the river.
Nature is beautiful but deadly. Underneath all this glitter & whiteness lays ice. Cars are skidding all around the city. The accident rate is way up there since yesterday. My hubby is grumbling that he has to work in this ice. He can't seem to appreciate the beauty part of it. Though, I can see his point, I can still appreciate the beauty of it here & now. Tomorrow, when I have to go to work, it'll be a another matter. Different perspective.

Sounds beautiful to look at, but not so good to drive in!!
I really do love weather like that, I'm looking forward to going back to it in the next few weeks. And with the lack of winter people are talking about this year, I may actually get to see some of it! Enjoy the beauty of it Wildchild, but make sure you've got snowtires!

my take is that if it's going to be cold then it might as well be pretty too!
but yes, it can be dangerous.
Saturday i went down to our garden to visit my friend. after awhile i told her i was going to go out and spend some time with the standing stones. it was very cold, but i was bundled up tight. the ground was a bit muddy, and the air just felt wet.
so i'm standing between the two uprights with one hand on each (they really do vibrate differently, in kind of a masculine/feminine way), and i'm thinking how beautiful it would look in the snow. and within about thirty seconds it started snowing! a few flakes at first, then it just started coming down quite heavily. and this was the first snow we've had, so i was very thrilled to have it come 'on command' so to speak!
i stayed out there for about fifteen minutes, and then went back inside. less than five minutes later the snow stopped, but it was there for me and the stones, and i thank Them for that!

i wanted to, but remembered that my wife has the camera in California.
too bad too.
i was down there again tonight for full moon ritual, and the snow was everywhare, and someone had climbed up and placed a 6" crystal ball on top of the lintel. the moon was shining right through it, and it was one of the prettiest sights i've ever seen
(but i'm still numb!)!
happy moon everyone...

It's still beautiful out there tonight. I'm just getting ready to go out again. Greenman, someday, I will take you up on that offer & stop by. Those stones sounds so wonderful.

When I got home from school last night, my sisters and I went out to do an esbat ritual. The moon was breathtakingly beautiful. There were 4 wrings around it. 1 green,1 blue, 1 redish orange, and 1 yellow. It was absolutely GORGEOUS. :D

All of these stories sound so wonderful and beautiful. As for snow, I hate it. I don't like to be cold either. But I do enjoy watching the snow fall in the moonlight (as long as everyone in my family is home safe. It is quite a different thing watching the snow fall and waiting for hubby to get home from work.) It can make me feel very peaceful and introspective.
Wildchild, you are right, it is such a different perspective and so many people do miss the beauty of what is going on with the Earth.
